We hired Simon Gill when renovating a Victorian railway cottage near Willesden Junction. The project involved a complete redesign of the downstairs; including the addition of a study extension with shower/toilet; and complete refurb of the upstairs. The house is in a conservation area. Simon produced a sensitive design, in keeping with planning requirements, that was also modern and innovative. The extension is faced with corten steel, which gives it a contemporary industrial look, while also blending harmoniously with the Victorian context. The paved back garden has a Japanese theme, with an oval pond and small planting areas. It is like an extra room and is effectively one in fine weather. We particularly like the 'flow' of the downstairs, from the entrance through to the back view, as it gives a sense of spaciousness and admits lots of light; and yet, also, contains a cosy sitting room. The entire ensemble is unostentatious, while also feeling both stylish and comfortable. Simon, and his colleagues, couldn’t be more helpful. We were fully consulted in the design process. The drawings, and the detailed plans, were clearly presented for our approval as they evolved. The planning process was followed conscientiously and successfully secured. Liaison with the builder and others involved in the construction was thorough. Simon was always available and willing to advise as the project progressed. Costings were accurate, and the project was completed in accordance with our budget. Simon’s own fees were reasonable and as expected. Our whole experience was entirely satisfactory.

Simon and Sonia worked with us on our project, kitchen, side and loft extension and complete house renovation. As we had never undertaken anything like this before, their hard work, planning, advice and attention to detail was brilliant. Their efficiency, professionalism and experience made the whole project run seamlessly. They exceeded our expectations and we are so thrilled with the house we now live in!

We were pleased to work with Simon as he came recommended to us from a friend. The development ran smoothly (with a contractor Simon had introduced) and from the initial scoping of the design and project concept to the implimentation of a complex mix of specialist contractors allowed us to achieve the vision we had envisaged. Simon was always available, commercial and practical in his advice, but open to interpreting our intentions. We would happily work with him again.

After speaking to various architects, we appointed Simon Gill to carry out an extensive remodelling of our house in Fulham. Simon came up with a wonderfully imaginative design centred around huge sliding glass doors spanning the full width of the garden. Simon was enormously patient with us, spending hours understanding how we and our four children would use the space. He then project managed the build to ensure that the contractors didn't cut corners and delivered his very high quality specification. The project was finished on time and on budget and we are delighted with it. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

if I could give 6 stars I would. Simon is one amazing architect. I have never come across anyone with such wonderful attention to detail and enthusiasm for a project. His eye for detail is fantastic and he has some superb creative ideas. He will listen to you and ensure that you achieve exactly what You want (not necessarily what he wants). He always makes you feel as though you are the only client. Never rushed and ensures you have his full care and attention. He is completely focussed on the builders and will ensure they aren't making mistakes. I have been so impressed with Simon and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Simon has been our Architect for the design and management for two major projects. He's fabulous - a joy to work with; innovative, fun, charming and creative but diligent, practical, budget-conscious and detail orientated. From feasibility study to planning, and from tender to construction, Simon was totally on top of the process; guiding throughout whilst being collaborative; happy to take on-board my ideas and develop them to produce a finished project that works in both form and function.

SGA was found through a personal recommendation. Our involvement with SGA covered every aspect of this job ; full design, planning, production of a short list of main contractors, assisting with the selection of one and full management of the entire job which was the complete modernisation of a terraced house plus the addition of a full width and length basement. This job was completed below budget and more than two months early, something which was a new experience for me ! SGA continued to be interested in the property after the hand over, which is a very good indicator of their professionalism I cannot recommend them highly enough.

A passionate and accomplished architect who created a functional yet innovative solution when I needed to extend my home. The completed project was so well-designed that it was even shortlisted for the prestigious 2016 RIBA small projects award.
