“Without Jack my house would never have been built. We needed to tuck this little house into a narrow urban lot in a Historic District and make it look like it was always there. We survived 7! public hearings with heavy revision. Jack remained true to my original vision while accommodating the requirements of many other visions of what my house needed to be. “Be assured that you will be in excellent hands with Stacy at SKM Design. We can not recommend her highly enough! We did not use an architect or designer for our previous 2 renovations and I wish we had known Stacy then. We literally have no regrets with the layout or design choices in our current house. We have a 1920’s traditional colonial and she was excellent at marrying the character of our older home with today’s modern amenities. She leaves no stone unturned, keeps her eyes on the budget, works quickly, is a task master and will come up with a design plan that fits your lifestyle and budget. Stacy will also help you refine or identify your aesthetic if you don’t already have one. For our renovation, she facilitated the bidding process and managed our project every step of the way. She was able to recommend 3 builders for the bidding and a slew of tradespeople. She‘s also a joy to work with and an outstanding human being- you will love having her around.”

“We purchased an open concept home that was TOO open. We needed a design solution to expand and define the dining room, provide privacy for a powder room and, yet, still maintain the sense of openness. Gary spent time brainstorming with us and was instrumental in giving us the perfect design solution, one we weren't even considering! He provided excellent construction administration and permitting services as well as solving a complex structural issue. Well worth it, very easy to work with, highly recommend!”

“Our experience with Don was great from start to finish. Before designing the house we built, he traveled 4 hours to visit the site of the house taking pictures from all angles to determine how best to situate the house on the lot. During the design process, he would take the time to show us things in his own house to compare with what was on the plans. It gave us a better sense of how the plans would translate when we built. After construction started, he was readily available to answer any questions we had about the construction as well as to speak with the builder. His experience with building is a huge asset when it comes to translating the design into a finished product. All in all, our experience was great and we couldn't be happier with the home he designed for us. We highly recommend Don.”
