“Sandy did a great job of listening to my husband and my needs, and she designed a great pop top for our Denver Square. There were many hiccups along the way (but what home remodel doesn't have one!) and Sandy went above and beyond in making sure our issues were addressed and fixed. There were many occasions where an issue would arise (foundation wasn't good, we needed more money for framing, etc) and she would provide a solution, and then explain the problem and the solution together. Sometimes the solution had to have more money, but there were occasions where she would figure out how to save us money as well!”

“I pretty much knew want I wanted to do with my project. I warned Ellen I knew enough about architecture to be dangerous. Ellen recognized my requirements and was instrumental in identifying other considerations needed for the project. Included was a need for a code variance (setback). I was informed by the city, before starting the project, a code allowance(variance) was not required. Ellen’s code research was right. A code allowance was required. With her help, the review board approved the code allowance request unanimously. Our project involves bumping the attached garage eight feet to allow for a utility room between the garage and house. The design includes moving the washer and dryer out of the basement. As simple as the project sounds, there is a lot involved. Ellen listened to my wife’s concerns and ideas on the project. Together we achieved a very efficient design. We are now in the permit and construction phase of the project. I am looking forward to Ellen’s input. Ellen deserves your serious consideration.”

“Nate, and the amazing group of professionals with whom he works, helped us to open up our dark and boring entrance into a bright and welcoming space. He designed a hidden closet disguised by a bookshelf to utilize dead space to store our cleaning supplies (we love showing this to guests!). And made the suggestion that we lay our tiled floor on a diagonal to add a subtle touch of elegance to the hallway. Nate spent the time to listen to our ideas and visions for the space and he utilized his talent, skills and years of experience to design a space that we love; we couldn’t be happier with the way it all came together!”

“My wife and I decided to undertake the daunting task of designing and building a beach house in Baja, Mexico. We hired Robbie Dickson with Equinox Architecture because of his strong experience designing second homes for families. Even though most of his prior work was from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado using wood (very different from the coastal deserts of Baja), we felt comfortable that he would design a fabulous getaway for us. We were not disappointed. Take a look at the photos and you can see for yourself. It was a great experience all around. The builders who didn't speak english commented that they were the best architectural plans they had ever built from, the easiest to follow and with all the appropriate details called out to make building go smoothly and efficiently, even in a foreign country. “HMHAI developed an initial design concept for our home along South Boulder Creek which capitalizes on the mountain views across open space in a way which will both enhance our quality of life and the value of our home investment. They have worked seamlessly with our general contractor and the team of engineers required to meet the stringent Boulder building code, which we passed "without comment" on the first submission of our plans. In addition to designing a beautiful home, they've assisted us in selecting well-respected and efficient structural engineers, energy consultants, and all of theother professionals needed to build a new home. The design team has guided us toward sound and aesthetically appealing finish choices inside and out. We'll finish our home mid-summer and are thoroughly enjoying the building process (a pleasant surprise). Our highest recommendation to Harvey Hine and his team at HMHAI.”
