“Working with Jimmy Crisp and his associates was a great and valuable learning experience that could not have turned out better than it did. Jimmy truly met, and in many instances, went beyond our expectations. The project, which was a complete gut renovation, went very smoothly and it did come in on budget with the exception of new items that were included after our original quote. Of course there were differences of opinions and long discussions about changes/desired outcomes and new costs, however, I would say that because of Jimmy's constant presence at the site, complete knowledge of exactly what was suppose to happen at all stages of the project and calm manner we escaped situations that could, at the time, have been less satisfactory. Jimmy, the associates and clerical employees of his firm are all a 10 in my book! My experience with Crisp Architects makes me believe that anyone seeking a great architect, backed by a most professional staff, could not do better than to choose Crisp Architects.”

The quality and beauty of Peter's work is undisputable but what I appreciate the most is the quality of the design process - anticipation and understanding of clients' needs, timeliness of delivery and communication skills. Doyle Coffin Architecture is a great asset when dealing with zoning issues and when finding creative solutions to design problems is a must. What might sound like hyperbole referencing anyone else is exactly right for him. Scot's opinions are elegant, timeless, finely expressed and understated, proportional, interconnected and lightening-fast. “Jessica was a key member of the design team and site management of the gut renovation of our apartment in the East Village. Besides her great aesthetic sense, design insight and creativity, which were invaluable, she has a comprehensive understanding of construction methods, which is an essential part of working with contractors, of making sure that the renderings become reality. She's a pleasure to work with--diplomatic, savvy, prompt for meetings, firm with contractors and subs when necessary, and has a knack for finding the best solutions for tricky problems. She's also deft with finding the most cost-effective approach to great design. I couldn't recommend her more highly.”

“Robert Marrapodi is a full service architect capable of working with any design style and with any budget. We asked him to develop a plan to open up our 1950s ranch and give us a nice modernist look with lots of light and bringing the outdoor beauty in. He worked with our budget to find the best products and finishes we could afford and gave us realistic options and solutions that were within our reach. He also made some great suggestions on the fly to deal with issues that came up during the construction. He worked really well with the contractor and was hands on enough to ensure the project stayed on track and within scope. He has a terrific aesthetic and a good feel for what the customer wants. We especially like that he did not push us to change style or direction and respected what we were trying to achieve. We really enjoyed working with him and recommend him very highly. Photos are available on the Clark Construction Services tab which we also highly recommended on this site.”

“Robert was a professor, a mentor and now also a collegue at this point. From the fundamentals of design and basic drafting and free hand drawing to learning to think like an archtiect, Robert was there for both Marvin and I throughout our educations and beyond. A true artist, everything from a handwritten note left on your desk to the framed pieces of his work we showcase in our own office are works of art. He clearly left an impression on us when it comes to paying attention to the details even if it is just your handwriting on a post-it. The other thing Robert instilled in us is the importance of listening without judgement. He was and is always willing to just sit in listen to your ideas and dilemas. This gift is clear when you review his portfolio. He is listening to his clients and solving the problem. We recommend Robert without reservation.”

“We have used Julia Metcalf Architecture and Interior Design for two different projects - an office renovation and a large scale home remodel. Both projects had major architectural and interior design elements. Julia was very easy to work with, and we found her communication skills, both with us and with our contractor, to be exceptional. Everything was very clear and concise. She really understood our design aesthetic, and how to work that into both our home and our office. She was respectful and appreciative of our suggestions, and very conscientious of our budget. Julia has great suggestions on where to splurge and where you can save some money in different areas of each project. In our commercial project, she was extremely knowledgable and meticulous about meeting all various ADA and IBC codes. We strongly recommend Julia Metcalf Architecture and Interior Design, and are thankful to her for helping us create the amazing spaces in which we work and live.”
