“From the time we first met Scott in person, we felt completely confident in his abilities to help us design our first home. Scott was extremely personable and made us feel at ease throughout the entire process, which was no easy feat since we have little experience with the home design process. He is very knowledgeable in Michigan code and energy-efficient homes and made some great suggestions on how we could increase the R value of the house, which was very important to us. He offered advice about which type of insulation to use, what windows would be most cost-effective yet eco-friendly and how geothermal could be used in our home. He also pointed out some flaws in the floor plan we brought as inspiration and helped us design a well thought out, functional layout that will for our family for years to come. On the exterior, he offered many ideas on how to give a new build some character and make it feel inviting. Scott delivered our plans very quickly and when we had revisions, they were done promptly. When we decided to change the roof pitch to add more head space to the second story of our cape cod, he called to discuss truss design and potential increased home costs to ensure we were making the best decision. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone looking for a passionate, talented architect that has your best interests in mind. He is prompt, professional and detail oriented and his plans were outstanding. Our house will be built over the next 9 months and I cannot wait to see his vision come to life!”

“I can't say enough great things about our experience working with AZD on our dream home! This is NOT the only architect that we looked at and based on their creativity, personalities involved and the work they've done for us we definitely made the right choice. I also very much liked that they had a clear pricing model that was concise. Other architects that we met with in the area couldn't provide us with much clarity and only left us more confused on how much it might cost. Our house will be out here on Houzz at some point and you'll see why we're excited about the work they've done and their creativity....it's going to be a very cool house! I had never heard of them but with a simple google search their site popped up and looking at their portfolio it was interesting to find that the four houses we loved were all designed by AZD. We still looked at other Architects just to be completely informed, and as I said above, we know for certain we made the right choice to go with AZD. Building a dream home is about the total experience...the right Architect makes a huge difference in that experience.”

“We did a 4-season addition with porch and mudroom area off the kitchen/ dining areas. We also re-roofed the entire house, did an attic insulation blow-over, and painted walls and refinished hardwood floors throughout the existing living areas. It was a big project spanning two months non-stop. We had interviewed 3 design/build companies before selecting Cowdin, and we couldn't be happier with the result! At every step, Bill ensured our comfort and minimized the disruption to our daily life. Communication and follow-through was excellent. Our wish to collaborate was welcomed, and he shared our collective creative vision via CAD design and rendering tools to help us visualize the project during the planning and decision making stages. To help us participate in the construction phases, he used a web-based project planning tool called BuilderTREND that allowed us to monitor progress and approve change orders online. The project started and ended on-time with excellent coordination among the many contractors involved. Cowdin focuses on build a relationship with us. He blends technology and soft-skills on the client side with top-notch contractors on the execution side. In the end we are as delighted with our experience as we are with the results.”
