“Vadzim was the perfect cabinetmaker. He made cabinets throughout our entire home -- new kitchen with new island, family room, living room, media room, custom children's hallway, bathroom vanity, custom mantle, laundry room, and kitchen table. He was also responsible for the finishing touches, such as the handrails on the stairs and the crown molding. He was very responsive and turned around requests quickly. He was thoughtful - in many cases more thoughtful than we were. He really helped us think through the uses of the cabinetry and made excellent suggestions for improvement that integrated the design of our whole home. For example he asked us to make the countertops thicker to ensure outlet plug strips were hidden. His designs were perfect and thoughtful, down to the fraction of an inch. He also crafted a custom table for us when we couldn't find a white oval table in the right dimensions. Even with all of this excellent attention to detail and responsiveness, he was considerate of our budget. For example we were able to re-use some old kitchen drawers with new faces, and he sent us a high-end and low-end set of hardware to choose from for a very large door. Vadzim takes great pride in his work and is truly an artist with an appreciation for functionality. The cabinetry is all beautiful and works perfectly - all of it. We will absolutely use him again for every custom cabinetry need we have in the future.”

“The Klein Design Group designed the cabinetry for our entertainment center/bookcase wall unit in our den and our kitchen cabinetry. Jonathan Kleid listened carefully as we outlined what we knew we needed and made very apt suggestions about possibilities that we had not initially recognized. The elegant, uncluttered designs in both rooms have stood the test of time. In the kitchen and den his choices of internal hardware and fittings for specialized drawers and cabinets have worked smoothly and have operated flawlessly for more than fifteen years. His collaboration with Swift Finishing gave us cabinetry whose paint finishing was perfect and silky smooth to the touch. Jonathan was very responsive to our initial request to meet, enthusiastic about our projects, and a joy to work with throughout. He has followed up periodically to make sure that we knew help was available if any issues arise.”

“Laura has supplied the cabinets on some of our most successful projects, including my personal residence in San Francisco. Since Laura represents several different cabinet fabricators, she has the ability to accommodate virtually any stylistic, design, and budgetary requirement. She is a second generation kitchen designer, and virtually her entire family (including her contractor husband Mike) is in the residential remodeling business. Laura personally supervises the delivery of all of her orders, and stands behind any factory mistakes or damage incurred by shipping. “Ron was great to work with. He listened to what we wanted and also had great suggestions of his own. He is extremely meticulous and detailed. He has done two bathrooms and 2 sets of built-ins around our fireplace, and was on time. He is currently working on our kitchen. We were tight on space in one of the bathrooms and he modified the cabinets so they weren't as deep. They turned out great; Everyone comments on the quality and how spacious our bathroom is----little did they know we were counting inches.”

“Chris did an amazing job of customizing our beloved 1950's built-in cabinet with a modern tv lift system. We gave him the difficult task of cramming the biggest tv we could find into a tiny, narrow cabinet. Then he encased the tv with a beautiful frame, which perfectly matches the original wood of the cabinet. He also updated the vintage speaker grill and thoughtfully repaired broken hinges. It was a very difficult project that required someone with strong technical skills, talent, and good taste. Chris is fast and affordable for the quality of work he produces. We will definitely be using Chris again for our kitchen and bathroom remodels, as well as some custom furniture pieces.”

“My designer has used Demetra before and the reviews were excellent. Our experience was not flawless. However, we were able to work out a solution with Demetra. We ordered cabinets for a kitchen and a kitchenette. My designer started working with Lexus and unfortunately their design used an 8' ceiling instead of 9'. A few months later when we were ready to work out the design Lexus was gone, so Kevin took over. Kevin came and measured the spaces to finalize the designs. I met with him to go over the details. For the kitchenette he was able to figure out an efficient panel layout to cover the bottom side of the uppers that were not colored (this is a drawback with the acrylic cabinets). That was great, except when he measured at the site he did not see that a beam that intersects his design of the upper cabinets. Luckily, I caught this error before the cabinets were in production. He was very quick to update the design and the cost was actually reduced with our solution. Unfortunately, I did not catch the 8' ceiling error in the larger kitchen design. The renderings showed the cabinets going to the ceiling like I wanted. After we placed the order we were told that the finish we selected was no longer available! Make sure to confirm the materials before signing off for production. The only option Demetra offered was a different finish (acrylic) which was a different shade of cream. We were in a pickle since we needed the cabinets and the production time is quoted as 6-8 weeks. Finally, the cabinets were delivered and when my contractor started the installation he let me know that the 8' tall panels to cover the sides of the refrigerator were too short. I contact Kevin and he tells me that the panels are not available taller than 8'. Things are looking pretty grim...I meet with Kevin and Ricky (owner) and we quickly came up with a solution using a new product that will coordinate with the cabinets and has longer panels. Ricky agreed to credit us for the short panels to offset the cost of the new panels and additional upper cabinet/doors. Overall, the cabinets may even look better, and Kevin and Ricky were creative in figuring out how to use what we had to minimize the additional cost. The acrylic cabinets are stunning and are more durable compared with the high-gloss enamel (used in our last kitchen project). The lead time for the material is also short - just 2 weeks. If you are thinking you will save some money and just use IKEA cabinets, you should reconsider. Demetra has custom size cabinets that are much higher quality for not much more cost - and you don't have to build the boxes. Also, you can get replacement doors from Demetra if you need them later.”
