“Taylor Bryan designed and built a major kitchen/half bath/mudroom renovation for our 1960's home. They were courteous, knowledgable, creative and wonderful to work with. They listened to our wants and needs and worked with us patiently to come to a design that satisfied both our wants in terms of space and our needs in term of a budget. They also were willing to help us envision a fourth bedroom addition that we will hopefully undertake in the near future. We needed to "see" the whole picture renovation before committing to the first-stage of the renovation and they were willing to do this with us. They also worked with us to figure out a solution of where to put the washer/dryer for we had to move it from its existing space on the first floor for the 1st stage of the renovation but weren't ready to put it where it will eventually go once the second stage of the renovation is complete. “Design-Build: Renovating the Right Way When we first entertained the idea of remodeling our home we worked with an architect to help us figure out how we could make our house function better. We ended up with drawings and had no idea where to go next. During our search for a builder, we learned about design-build which provides one unified flow of work from initial concept through project completion. We engaged Integrity Development & Construction under a single contract to provide design and construction services. The collaborative relationship we built with Heidi, our designer, and Kyle, our Project Manager, during the design phase set the stage for a smooth and successful project. Heidi and Kyle were extremely patient with us, answering all of our questions and providing us with excellent advice and ultimately a great design that addressed our needs. We spent a good amount of time selecting tile, flooring, paint colors, plumbing fixtures, finishes, etc. that all went into the final scope of work which determined the bottom line contract cost. Because Integrity was responsible for both designing AND building the project, great attention was given to pricing and scheduling in the design phase. The costs of all aspects of the project were taken into account early on in the process; all fees, construction costs, finishes, etc. were accounted for in the contract and the cost would only change if we – the homeowners – made changes. On the first day of demolition, we were introduced to Bert who was our lead carpenter for the entire project. He was at our house every day during the entire renovation. Kyle, our project manager, checked in weekly to review any change orders or to discuss upcoming work that was to be done. Both Kyle and Bert were very responsive to any texts/emails we sent with questions or concerns. Any issues we had were addressed immediately and with perfect aplomb. We worked closely with the Integrity team with a shared goal of completing a successful project. We lived in our house during the entire 4 months of demo and construction. Everyone from Integrity was very respectful of our space leaving the house clean and tidy at the end of each workday. We had a great working relationship with Bert, our carpenter which was important as he arrived at our house at 7 AM each and every day. He was incredibly industrious and kept the project on track. At the end of the project when we looked at our new kitchen and two new bathrooms we felt like we were looking at a high-end design magazine. Attention had been paid to every little detail. And the budget stayed on track – no surprises! Strangely we missed all of our Integrity friends after the project was done. When we are ready for another project Integrity will definitely be our first call. “Xylem builders worked with us to plan and build a large addition to our fifties ranch style house in Windsor Locks in 200. Friends of ours had Xylem do some work on their house and they were very satisfied. From the first contact, the project moved right along fairly quickly. We more than doubled the size of the kitchen, replaced the cabinets, countertop and sink and added a breakfast bar. The small straight galley kitchen with an old fashioned wood and glass paned back door was changed to an L-shape kitchen with an enclosed laundry area and a beautiful new side door. The kitchen became the main entrance, which completely changed the look and feel of the heart of the house. People actually wanted to hang out in the kitchen, for the first time. Charles helped us to find cabinets that were both high quality and affordable. The finished kitchen was just gorgeous, and we were on a budget! We also added a coat closet, for the new entryway, enclosed laundry area within the kitchen, large 2nd bedroom and additional bath. It was also necessary to replace the tub and tub enclosure and do some cosmetic work in the existing bath. We enclosed the hatchway, turning it into a wider interior stairway to the basement, making it easier to move larger things like washer, dryer, furniture when necessary. Charles and his crew also changed out the furnace, put a new roof on existing house and sided the whole house. It looked like a new house when it was finished. We received many compliments on the house, especially the kitchen and 2nd bathroom. It was a real pleasure to work with the whole crew. They even cleaned up after themselves! Charles came in on budget and has an excellent work ethic. High quality carpentry and real talent for design. Charles and his crew are honest, hard-working and very professional.”
