“I had the pleasure of working with Dovetail in the summer of 2012. Our choice over and above other contractors we looked into was our confidence in the workmanship and design. Going in with the idea that we wanted our kitchen to be more functional and upscale, my husband and I, knowing that we are style-challenged, wanted someone who would guide us to a design that fit the house, our personal taste, and be up-to-date and interesting without succumbing to trendiness that will look dated in 5 years. Any contractor can do a kitchen renovation that looks like the latest mock-up in Lowes or the local kitchen and bath design place. Not everyone has the style sense that Jonathon Scholl has. He worked in elements we would not have thought of and gently discouraged us from decisions that he knew we would regret later (such as we originally didn’t want to give up a cabinet for waste bucket but are now so glad we did). We worked collaboratively and were able to reuse about 80% of our existing cabinets by painting them and getting new doors made. This kept the cost down and appealed to our sense of responsible reuse. So what do our friends and family comment on the most? The gorgeous, furniture-grade island is a solid and functional centerpiece – all Jon’s design and workmanship; the tile backsplash - in particular, the area behind the cooktop – Jon’s selections (my initial selections would have been horrific in reality!); the spice drawer below my cooktop – the envy of all the cooks in my family; the lighted cabinet windows that showcase some of my favorite hand-painted pottery. After living with this kitchen renovation for over a year now, we are still delighted at how it turned out, thoroughly enjoy entertaining in it, and couldn’t imagine this turning out as well without Dovetail.”

“Pete and his team did a complete refinishing of our basement. It was done in two stages: the first included designing the empty space to make it most functional for us. We needed apartment type living as our daughter and two granddaughters are living with us. We wanted as much light as possible which he accomplished with the installation of extra windows and great lighting. In addition to a living area, we needed a desk area, a bedroom and bath and plenty of usable storage. He covered existing support posts and added closets. The second stage was begun after three years when we decided a kitchen was also needed so Pete again used his design expertise by converting the desk area into a wonderful kitchen which includes plenty of cabinet and counter top space, a refrigerator, sink, dishwasher and stove along with the addition of a beautiful, functional breakfast bar. Pete and his carpenters, plumbers and others were always respectful, on time and kept us abreast of what was happening on a daily basis. There were no unexpected delays. We could not have asked for a better outcome.”

In addition, I needed someone to design, draw and then take the project to completion. The work was outstanding in quality and detail. The final project gets the "oohs and aahs" from friends one would hope for and our new basement is now the most fun and inviting part of the house. “We purchased a new home from Hellings and have used Hellings to finish the lower level as well as other projects. Ross, Barry and his whole team are very focused on client satisfaction. There are always issues to deal with in large projects and our experience continues to be that Hellings is focused on getting things done the right way. Since buying our home and adding to the original house, we've used Hellings to put in a whole house generator, to install estate fencing and will certainly have them provide a bid on a pool and patio project that we also have on our list. Hellings is not trying to be the low cost option, but they take pride in doing each project the right way.”

“The Signature Construction and Design group came highly recommended to us for our home renovation. We worked with them to completely overhaul our 3 story townhouse. New kitchen, new master bath, hardwood refinish, upgrade all hvac, upgrade fireplace, new stair rails, removal of walls and interior steps, new lighting throughout, new master bedroom closet and closet insert installation throughout the entire house. We also had their carpenters take a slab of raw black walnut and create a "live edge" countertop bar for us that is the show stopper of the home. We took the home from mid 2000's spec home to mid century modern beautiful from top to bottom! The design and construction staff at Signature were excellent in assisting us with choices to make the home work together. Their carpentry staff built custom doors for a difficult closet and even built occasional tables from the live edge scrap material!! Their construction staff and their sub-contractors are the best in the business!”

“In November of 2016, our home burned down. The insurance company gave us one year to find a builder, make plans, get all permits, knock down what was left of our old home and build a new home. We met with several builders and received estimates from all. It was clear our best choice was Frankland Builders. Dave Frankland, our main contact person, immediately began a very organized process of planning and building our soon to be beautiful new home. Experience, professionalism, and excellent personal skills made this project very successful. There were hundreds of decisions to be made, but through each phase Frankland Builders were organized and clear about choices and maintaining a steady timeline. From demolition, to planning the home, an updated water management system, executing the new build, including landscaping and a new driveway; this project was enormous. If my wife and I struggled with decisions, Dave and his team made themselves available to guide us and make good choices to stay on budget and end up with a fabulous home. In the end, our home was built on time, in budget, and is just beautiful. We are grateful to Frankland builders for taking care of us and getting us back home. Our home is well built, beautiful and made of nothing but quality products. Additionally the workmanship which went into building this home is evident throughout; from the beautiful floors, custom trim, to a well-planned layout, it is a gorgeous custom home.
