“A-1 replaced my old slate roof, replaced eleven windows, and the back storm door. The estimates were spot on, the cost reasonable, and the workmanship excellent. The A-1 crew is very professional, respectful, and even came on a Saturday morning to make sure the work was finished. It was a remarkably easy experience for me as a woman on my own., Everything was done quickly and the clean up was even great. I've recommended them several times. And I would hire them again should I ever need any more work.”

“Absolute masters of their craft is the only way to describe the team at Beasley Woodworks. My wife and I bought a turn of the century Victorian cottage with clean lines in the beautiful seaside town of Narragansett, RI. It needed a lot of work, and we really wanted to transform it from a simple Victorian to a more classic, shingle-style home. But we saw so many beautiful old homes ruined by renovations that missed the mark, and we were apprehensive at best. We could not have made a wiser choice for this critical renovation. Our home is a showpiece. Everyone just assumes that it is an original shingle-style design from 1890. From his original sketchup (yeah, these guys crank out google sketchups as concepts) to the final product, we were promised thoughtful design and quality work. We got both and then some.”

“We could not recommend Arkins Construction more highly! Our project included salvaging parts of our old home to re-purpose into our new house. Arkins was with us every step of the way. From their subs to their crew they were professional. hard working, courteous, timely, and enjoyable to work with. They were exceptional at communicating with us throughout the process, primarily by e-mail and often by on-site meetings. When various construction options would arise they would often illustrate the choice by a picture or diagram attached to an e-mail, which made the decision much easier for us. We were happy start to finish and the result was a beautiful home that we will enjoy for many years to come.”

“We hired Caldwell & Johnson (C&J) for Dave's knowledge of green technology. Before the project began Dave showed us other houses he had built using some of this technology. In the last stages of design we decided to use photovoltaic technology. C&J installed solar shingles on the south facing roof that are producing more kilowatts than we are consuming. The photovoltaics coupled with other building techniques C&J uses to produce energy efficient homes (e.g. foam insulation) earned us a Home Energy Rating Certificate with a 5 stars plus rating. Dave followed through to get the house tested for its energy efficiency and we received certificates with the results. C&J was also top rate in terms of designing the interior details of the house. For example, board and batten was installed on the walls of the open staircase, craftsman style trim on all windows including some open transoms, and help when choosing finishes (e.g. tile). Dave's team is very knowledgable and professional!”

“I am an electrical contractor who wired the new house on Block Island at 162 Dunstown Rd, Swede Hill. I was hired by the General contractor doing the project. I worked closely with Nick Downes of Aquidneck Properties the project manager throughout the project. Nick worked closely with all contractors, in my experience working with Nick he was extremely helpful and always available in regards to making decisions. He considered problems that arose during the project as just a bump in the road. From the beginning to the end of the project Nick made it very clear that the main objective was to do the work properly and as efficient as possible. I would welcome the oppurtunity to work with Nick's company in the future.”

“We have been working with Meridian for quite a few years now, and the team is great to work with. They are a complete design build firm and I think this makes it really easy for the customer because they are involved with the project from start to finish. They have a number of model homes for the consumer to see to get design inspiration and see Meridians completed work. The design team has great ideas and always stays current on the trends in todays fast changing climate. Great company to work with!”
