Fortunately, someone recommended Quality Design & Construction to me at the turn of the century (when they were called Quality Home Improvements) to renovate our master bathroom. I was pleased. Since then they have redesigned and renovated our kitchen, a second bathroom and our deck. They have replaced all our windows with energy efficient ones. They have repaired or upgraded much of our aging home as recommended by periodic home inspections. As perhaps their strangest project, I had them build a black bamboo pot. This pot is twelve feet long by three feet wide by 30 inches deep with six inch poured concrete walls. We hope that it will contain the beautiful, but invasive black bamboo. And my personal favorite, they build a bridge over Honey Brook. It has an attached pergola (I had to look that one up in the dictionary) to hold our climbing, hardy kiwi. I found a builder who is trustworthy and up to any challenge. You, too, will be pleased.”

“We hired Arsitecht to handle a small job. Or at least what seemed like a minor project, namely replacing a pair of exterior home doors. The doors this company replaced were the ones leading from the garage to the kitchen and from the garage to outside. Our home is 50-years-old and the original doors were in place. This meant that there were copious amounts of rotted wood that required replacement. Also, the doors were not up to spec, which meant certain fire mitigating practices were required, including using fire block insulating foam. Mr. Fruritch, the owner of the company, explained the changes as well as other recommendations, therefore we agreed upon these details. Mr. Frurtitch found the doors we needed at The Home Depot, although it wasn’t easy – one store had just one door, therefore he traveled to a neighboring town to secure the two doors, hardware, and other supplies. Throughout the project, Mr. Fruritch communicated clearly what he was doing and made changes based on a few things we requested. Upon completion of the work, we examined what was done and can say that we are completely satisfied with the quality of work, professionalism, and timeliness. We plan to use Arsitecht for a future home improvement project. His work is excellent and the cost of the project was reasonable.”

“Just Call Home has done a lot of work on our home - all of it has been EXCELLENT. They have done smaller projects such as - installing tile flooring in our bathrooms, repairing exterior wood damage, removing garage doors in a finished garage and replacing with an exterior wall and windows, installing a skylight, and performing our home inspection. They have also completed a full remodel of our main floor as Just Call Home "swapped" our kitchen and family room locations. Our "old" kitchen was completely gutted with walls removed and converted into a family room. Our "old" family room then became a gourmet kitchen. Just Call Home was there every step of the way in our planning process. He offered creative, functional ideas and floorplans for the layout - using his architecture background - and helpful advice on style and function for the details. He went above and beyond in helping us pick flooring, cabinets, appliances...whatever my husband and I were working on, he came back in the morning with research/ideas about. When problems arise as they do on a job of this magnitude, he was always ready with multiple solutions. His patience was unbelievable as we made decision after decision. And he always talked with us about what was "coming up" in the coming weeks so that we had time to think through some decisions we'd need to make. He was constantly mindful of cost -- offering different cost options and giving honest assessments of whether certain features were "worth" the money. His knowledge of all different aspects of such a large renovation was unbelievable - for every question I asked, he could provide an answer with detail and precision based on experience. He takes great pride in his work --- after a year in our remodel, I still haven't found anything he did "wrong." His work is detailed and professional. On top of all this, he is an honest person and someone I trusted completely in my home. And as a person, he is top-notch - considerate of being in your home, enjoyable to work with, and kind. “Mr. Vaughan has provided my wife and I a remodel that far exceeds our expectations. We initially had a small renovation in mind, but we changed to a complete renovation of our 50's ranch into a modern mix of craftsman meets mid-century architecture and design. The quality of construction is heads and shoulders above everyone we interviewed initially, and everyone who visited the site commented on how good it was, especially his in-house framers and finishers. No shortcuts were made in an attempt to save a few pennies; everything was done top-notch. I was surprised at just how precise his framing crew was; they framed studs to within a 1/16" tolerance! That was impressive. Wherever there were compound bevel cuts to be made, they actually measured both angles and made a compound cut that is completely flush with the mating surface; no gaps at all. It was an astounding level of quality. Needless to say, this perfection made all the work to come later so easy for everyone involved. We had a number of special requests and designs of our own making, which Mr. Vaughan artfully implemented. I'd say I'm fairly picky, and detail oriented, and he never flinched at any of my requests. Where my construction knowledge lacked (in most areas, I would say), he provided excellent feedback, solutions and ideas that were even better than we had initially envisioned. The scope of work was fairly extensive, but here is a summary of the largest portions. We added a new master bedroom, re-purposed a bedroom into a master bath, added a sunroom, relocated the laundry (which was in the kitchen) to it's own dedicated mud-room off the garage, and expanded a detached garage into a full sized workshop. Major home systems upgraded included: - Large sections of new plumbing. - Two tankless water heaters replaced a small 30 gal water heater. - Electrical service was upgraded to 400A. - A new circuit panel was install in the laundry/mud-room. - Almost the entire home was rewired for new electric (most of it was fabric insulated, ungrounded wire). - HVAC system was completely overhauled and supplemented with new units - Centralized wiring for ethernet/wi-fi, phone, cable/satellite, security. - A/V wiring for home theater in living room Part of the reno included much needed insulation to the entire home. We literally started from the ground up, sealing the crawl space, adding insulation to empty exterior wall cavities, and added foam insulation to the entire roof deck (including the older part of the home). As with most older homes, it was woefully under-insulated. It's very efficient now. New ducted and ductless mini-split heat pumps were installed in four rooms, and the existing, much overworked package unit is re-ducted (with all new duct work) to service the remaining portion of the house. The fact that the crawl and attic spaces are within the insulation envelope make the new and old HVAC systems work even more efficiently. The new master bath, although small due to space constraints is highly functional. The shower is a large, walk-in, with full glass walls, and 6 shower heads. There is also plenty of room for a dual sink vanity. This extremely thirsty bath configuration is serviced by two, new, gas fired tankless water heaters; installed in parallel, they provide hot water for the entire home and can effortlessly keep up with multiple hot water demands. When one isn't enough, the second one fires up to seamlessly keep the water at the desired temperature. Internal recirculation pumps return unused hot water from the farthest end to keep the water at a constant temperature, so there are no "cold water sandwiches". The master bedroom and sunroom also feature vaulted ceilings, which help make the modest sized rooms feel substantially larger. The taller ceilings also allow for taller windows to let in more sun. Solar tubes in the sunroom, laundry/mudroom, and an existing bath also let more light in, which in turn provide a sensation of having more space. All in all, we are ecstatic about the renovation and the work he provided for us. We are so happy we plan on giving him the job of remodeling our kitchen and guest bath next year!”
