“All I can say is - WOW! What a fantastic experience working with Paul, The Philly Homesmith! After a few conversations with large design & build firms we knew we could not afford to go that route. Some contractors we initially interviewed gave us competitive estimates, but just could not connect with our design esthetic, which was very important to us. When we meet Paul, he listened carefully to us and asked many questions. He was really concerned with what we liked and what we needed, and gave us lots of options and ideas to consider. He helped us from planning the initial layout, to managing the entire project. He even suggested appliances, places to shop and took us to some cool salvage stores. For the powder room, he came across some free cargo box wood that ended up looking beautiful as a wall treatment. Amazing! I really believe we would have never gotten this kind of intimate service from a large company. His Estimate was very competitive and in the end we ended up being very close to budget. We went over by about 12%, only because we changed our mind on some things along the way and there were some unforeseen issues behind the ceiling and walls that needed to be repaired (Paul had warned us of that possibility early on). It was a great experience working with Paul, he's very patient and easy to get along with. He didn't get annoyed or gouge us with price hikes when we asked to change things along the way, which we've heard stories of many contractors doing. Paul's design ideas for the Kitchen and Powder room were beautiful and unique and we are extremely pleased with his work and would hire him again in a heartbeat. He pays attention to detail, is dedicated, and is a true artist and craftsman.”
