“After receiving our bldg. permit we hired Bill McCance to build our garage. Bill was a pleasant surprise in that he listened and did everything we asked for to the smallest detail, with exacting quality. We live offsite, but he faithfully communicated every step with texting and e-mailed pictures. He even took care of dealing with CRD and Islands Trust, the ruling authorities who required inspections. Bill is a hard worker, and highly capable of doing the work, but the one caution would be to take control of your own costing as an owner.”

“Suter Homes built our lovely 5000 + sq ft home (with geothermal heating) in Whistler, which was completed at the end of 2018. Our build presented a number of challenges as we are located on a plot between one of the lakes and the highway, which was restricted due to various land setback rules. We are delighted with the outcome! Key factors: - during much of the build we were located in Europe so decision making was more challenging and Suter Homes had to use their initiative on many occasions. Given they had a clear view of our preferences and have lots of experience, this worked fine; - we appreciated Paul's 'good' eye for how things would look when finished (often difficult for us to visualise in 3 dimensions) and he often came up with ideas and solutions that we would not have thought of (we have built from scratch before in another country); - the Suter Homes site manager was outstanding!; - all sub contractors were efficient, provided good quality work and kept the site tidy; - since completion we have had only one, relatively minor construction issue, which is being dealt with. We are very happy to recommend Suter Homes highly!”

When issues arose during the process, whether related to the building process or coming from us, they were efficiently communicated and the consequences of any decisions were clear to us before we committed. He is clearly committed to getting things done right, and is engaged in making sure that it is. He was also very active in making sure we got the agreed upon quality without breaking our budget - in one case getting a subcontractor to redo some work which he felt was substandard and in another getting us excellent deals for material (in this case flooring) that was normally outside of our price range. We would not hesitate to recommend Galen to anyone, and have in fact done so on several occasions. Should we ever need to engage in another building project, Galen is the first person we'd turn to.”
