“Jadco/Mickey Bates painted and glazed kitchen and master bath cabinetry, repaired sheetrock and replaced damaged trim in the master bedroom, installed granite countertops in the kitchen, and painted kitchen, master bed and bath. I cannot praise them enough for the wonderful job they did. It was done in a timely way and all the crew were excellent, knowledgeable, polite, going way beyond what I expected, even cleaning up after each days work. An example of going above and beyond, ie, I had selected granite that was not available locally so the granite company sent a representative to Atlanta to buy the slab. The representative emailed me pictures of the slab, even sent pictures of three other slabs that were much less expensive. “BMR Homes is my remodeling choice for over 5 years. We've collaborated on two award-winning design projects. First, Chris Youngs and his crew converted a small unusable attic space to a spacious 15' x 20' light-filled design studio. The second project realized my design of an addition to replace an aging deck. This complicated custom addition features a 20' square deck and a spacious entertainment / media / sunroom with a 16' ceiling, 14 windows, motorized shades, custom lighting and a media center. All of these systems are remotely controlled through Wi-Fi, iPhone and iPad. This complex project was completed to my specifications and serves well for professional entertaining, meetings with my design students and family gatherings. BMR’s crafts persons responded to my needs as owner - designer working hard to make real the details specified. The challenge of realizing (in steel and wood framing) a complexly shaped 21’ x 26’ x 16’ high room on a steeply sloping lot was met with energy on the part of the carpenters and resulted in success within 1/4”. The interplay of as many as five “sub-contractors” in one week was orchestrated without conflict or confusion. Budget and deadline were followed and as designs changed, I was kept completely informed. Chris’s choices on electrical, insolation, stonework and media sub-contractors facilitated to project’s positive outcome. Real highlights are the “super-solid” deck, the gutters, the colored concealed trough and outdoor lighting, super efficient insolation, the “Hardy Board” exterior siding and the “mini – split - system” HVAC system.
