We confirm that we have taken legal action against Mr Mughal. Unfortunately sometimes it is necessary and at the moment because of the legal action taking place we have been advised not to make any comment. Following the issuing of a CCJ. Mr Mughal has now paid the balance in full and the additional legal costs incurred. We work tirelessly with all our clients to meet and even excel their expectations within our bespoke furniture range. We have the very latest computer software that generates both rendered and working CAD drawings to help them visualise the designs and build up to them. We also have an extensive sized showroom showing our high-quality products on view with all the different options available. The factory is under our showroom where our clients can see the manufacturing process for themselves. We are unique and proud of the fact that we are one of very few companies that produce virtually everything in-house.

For this particular project we produced multiple drawings/renders for the client, followed by phone and video calls. Eventually after several months in the design stage, the client then signed off the final drawings for production in our factory. Most important the client is always responsible for checking correspondence, order confirmations and final drawings. Unfortunately, in this case once everything was installed, the client then told us he was expecting something totally different. At no time could he produce any evidence that he had requested this totally different design.

We amended two wardrobes free of charge and out of goodwill. However the third wardrobe needed significant changes. We offered this at cost price for £344.00 incl VAT. The client did not take us up on our offer but decided to charge us £1,640.00 when the work was carried out by others on his behalf. This involved altering the wardrobes completely to a new design.

This was a challenging project from start to finish with many changes made to the designs, with zoom and phone calls and site visits. The new build itself had continuous delays and issues on site that was out of our hands. We constantly adapted and changed our scheduling for both manufacturing and installation over several months to accommodate the delays incurred by the builders. At every stage we were flexible and adaptable in all of the changes the client wanted to make to the design prior to manufacture. None of these incurred any additional cost to the client.

We take great pride in our work and our customer service. The whole team at Lamco go above and beyond to get it right for our clients. Over 65% of our work is repeat business with past clients. We know the importance of our reputation. We have carried out thousands of projects for well over 40 years and this was the first time a client told us after installation that it was not what they expected.

This is also the first time that we had to get solicitors involved. Unfortunately we had no option as he could produce no evidence that he had asked for the different wardrobe. He did not take us up on the offer of paying £344.00 to amend the wardrobe but went elsewhere and then demanded that we contribute £1,640.00 to the cost. This demand from the client was unacceptable and no agreement couldn’t be met.

The sad thing is that if Mr Mughal had made us aware prior to manufacture that he wanted an in-frame system we could have easily manufactured this for him.
