“Our challenge was to reenergize and refresh a Nursing Home in Toronto that was badly stuck in the '80s. Margot helped us select a color palette, make furniture choices, rehang our existing art and plan for both immediate and longer term design needs. Choosing an aesthetic that would make our residents feel at home - despite some necessary institutional components - was very important. Our nursing home is comprised of a stately mansion built in the 1860s, as well as a newer addition along the back. Margot chose to retain the existing mansion's design features including original Anaglypta wallpaper from England and highlight the gorgeous sculpted ceilings. She artfully chose an array of paint colors that would enhance the historic details of the Home. The overall goal was to restore the Home's prior elegance while modernizing its look. Margot paid great attention to detail and lighting during the design process. She readily worked with our suppliers (paint, etc.), answered all of our questions both during and after the project, and gave us options that would fit our budget. She also utilized research into color choices for people with dementia which was important to us. She was highly professional in all of her dealings and we would not hesitate to recommend her.
