“As a complete neophyte to the world of home renovation, I was faced with so many choices and decisions and had no clue where to start in transforming a gutted 1970s kitchen to something new and contemporary. It was great to work with Barb and gain the assurance she provides during such a huge undertaking and expense. With her help I made choices I could live with and within my budget. Whether helping me select paint colors, meeting me at the tile store overwhelming in options, or showing where to economize and to splurge, Barb was with me step by step so that ultimately everything worked together in the end. Now, I have a kitchen that, even three years later, is still a joy to walk into, to cook in, eat in and relax in. She went beyond the norm to take time with me and help me understand what was happinging and to reflect my realities and preferences in the process. “We hired Distinctive Kitchens and Baths (DKB) to design and install a new shower for our ensuite in our new home. The builder had originally installed a small, basic corner shower and we were looking for other options. DKB visited our home, took measurements, offered us options and prepared a written quote the listed all the tasks and materials required to complete the job. The job required the removal of the old shower and the bulkhead that was above it, moving the plumbing in the floor and wall to accommodate the new shower, installing a knee wall, cement board, shower base, tiling, plumbing fixtures, and new customize shower surround. The project also required that the ceiling be repaired as a result of removing the angled bulkhead. DKB sent in all the different trades to handle each job. All the trades laid down floor covers to protect our homes and all were professional, courteous and very friendly. Every day DKB dropped by our home to ensure that everything was going well and to answer any questions that we may have. The project was delivered on time and on budget.”

“Colin and Craig renovated our previous home's kitchen and bathrooms. We were very happy with their work. When we moved a few years later, we contracted them again. They have renovated our three bathrooms and our laundry room. We will be contracting them again when it comes time to do the kitchen in the new house. Colin does the planning work, he's creative, thoughtful, and patient. He listens to us, understands what we want and does his best to create a design that meets our needs within the parameters of what is practical. Craig and his crew (Josh, Fred and Kevin) all do excellent work. They are careful, contentious and tidy. Every job has it's hiccups, but Craig does his best to explain what our options are and offers practical solutions. His years of experience really show through. I cannot recommend these guys more highly.”

“Anne-Marie was so easy to work with. She did multiple projects for us. The first being helping with the exterior and interior design of our medical office building in 2008-2009. Our most recent project was a complete gut of our 1890's farmhouse, turning it into the masterpiece it is today. She designed all our kitchen cabinets, and other built-ins around the house, including a craft nook for our little girls. Each project she did for us were different styles, yet she was comfortable working with all of them, and able to accommodate all of our needs, wants, and "must haves". Her taste in colors is wonderful, I continue to get compliments on my wall colors in my living room and kitchen. In essence, she was great fun to work with, and willing and able to work with our vision, and not once pressured us to change our mind about what we wanted to suit her ideas.”
