Nigel came round to offer his 'garden design in a day' service. We have a difficult sloping garden and he was really good at understanding what we wanted and also helping us to think about things we hadn't considered. He also took careful consideration of our budget and came up with a really innovative but practical design and helped us find a suitable contractor. The garden looks great, we use it so much more and the design has attracted many compliments.

Alex has an amazing eye for garden design. Her knowledge of what will work in different areas of the garden has been invaluable. The drawings are clear and give you a great idea of how it will look when its all finished. Our garden is really taking shape and I can not recommend her highly enough.

Our project was to develop a medium-sized garden, four miles from the Sussex coast, which faces south-west and suffers strong winds, lethal for many plant species, Barry Chambers of Changing Scenes, of Bognor Regis, successfully designed a colourful garden of raised flower beds, mature trees, large shrubs, a vegetable and sitting area and a stone beach with seaside plants, creating a frame for views across fields and glorious sunsets. The work was put out to tender to about five firms, with husband and wife team Keymer Landscapes, of Barnham, Bognor Regis, who I would also recommend, selected. Barry Chambers' knowledge of plants, and their survival in these conditions, is excellent, as is his ability to explain his choices without pretension. The construction and gardening was hands-on supervised by Barry who regularly returns, post-project, to add plants and check the progress of the garden and its maintenance. Amanda Pearce, Highleigh, Chichester.

5 July 2015
We have a small city-centre back garden and two young children. Anita visited and talked through our ideas for how we could create a safe space for the children to play and also somewhere we could sit and relax in. She listened to our ideas, asked questions and made suggestions, to help understand exactly what we needed. The resulting designs, planting plan and cost breakdown were clear, beautifully put together and promptly delivered, and have given us a brilliant plan to follow. Anita was patient, informed and creative, and also very relaxed about whether we went ahead with her plan in full, with her help to build the structures and do the planting, or chose another supplier, or just undertook the plans step by step ourselves. The whole experience was incredibly helpful and enjoyable. We're following Anita's design together in stages ourselves and the garden is already transformed into a space we use everyday.
Rachel Goozee Garden & Planting design

Rachel has gone above and beyond to transform our little walled garden in sunny Sussex. Her professionalism and plant knowledge encouraged us to ditch the grass and small borders in favour of seating areas of beige sawn sandstone and big borders with all-year interest. Boring shrubs have been replaced with trees, grasses and beautiful flowers combined with Way markers and Corten steel. Rachel has given our garden a real sense of place and we would highly recommend using her services. It has lifted our small outside space to another level and made it look SO much bigger. We couldn’t be happier with the end result.

Moved to new house where garden had been totally neglected by previous tenants. Paul did an excellent job of strimming and cutting back the lawn, and expertly cut borders either side. Nine months later we now have shrubs, bushes, a flat lawn and even tomatoes! Highly recommend Paul for his professional workmanship and excellent advice.

Moving in to a brand new house we had a blank canvas with which to work, and count ourselves most fortunate when we were recommended to Anna by a neighbour. It was clear from the outset that Anna works with a process, first asking us what our priorities are and how much time we would be willing to give to ongoing maintenance etc. the brief we gave her was for low maintenance, year round colour, koi pool and dog friendly. At every point Anna exceeded our expectations. She has also kept her word by performing regular garden check-ups to make sure we're on track. Highly recommended.

Architectural Plants provide a fantastic service. They are so knowledgable and professional whilst remaining friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, from choosing, designing, planting, watering system, and even pruning!! Their plants are superb quality, every time, from small shrubs to our wonderful cork oak trees! I couldn't recommend them any more!!
Emerging Landscape Design
Brighton, East Sussex Landscape Architects and Garden Designers
28 March 2018
After 20+ years of living in the same house which had undergone numerous changes over the years, the garden was due a ‘makeover’ it had served us well as a family garden but our needs had changed (along with the ability to manage it) therefore time to look for an ‘expert’… Anthony Arnold of Emerging Landscapes stood out from others with the time he took to listen and understand our needs, wishes and not least, budget constraints. His approach is collaborative, very important as we wished to retain a few existing features which he needed to incorporate in the design. He explained and involved us in the design process along the way, from detailed site survey (we have a terraced garden, so not an easy task) concept drawing to final plan. He is innovative and creative and his desire to create a beautiful space that answers our needs and we can enjoy for many more years with minimum maintenance was very apparent. Our enthusiasm for the garden has been re-ignited.
