Michael also helped with the selection of the Landscape contractor and included elements such as irrigation, lighting, and a comprehensive plant list. What I especially liked was the up-front information he provided on what we (the inexperienced homeowners) would expect during the entire project. She picked out plants that are natural to our area, with colors that blended together beautifully. She went beyond the call of duty to keep my costs to a minimum, advising me of local sales and even coming with me on a couple of occasions to pick out plants that fit my personal taste and objectives. “We have been so pleased with our new landscape design by Cat Valand Landscape Design. Our shrubs had been planted over 30 years ago (when our house was originally built), and they were either too large for the area, or too scraggly because of age. Cat Valand gave our home a new "facelift" and was so easy to work with. One side of our yard slopes down and we have struggled with keeping dirt in place; Cat immediately realized we needed a small retaining wall; she helped us pick out the stone for the wall and had it installed. She made arrangements for our old plants to be removed, selected new ones, and had them installed. Cat was at our home when she said she would be....each day the workers were here, they were on time and cleaned up their work area. We have a lot of people in and out of our home and have received many complimentary comments on our new landscaping. Our home looks very welcoming! We would highly recommend Cat Valand Landscape Design.”

“We decided to hire Garden Environments after watching the mulch and soil on the side of our house swept away again and again after a rain fall. Our neighbours hired them and were very satisfied with their work, so we set up an appointment to see what could be done for our property . From beginning to end, this project could not have gone better. The detailed plans, the excellent work done in a timely manner, the plantings, and follow up were all done with care and professionalism. Shortly after the swale was completed, a severe thunderstorm came through and dislodged some of the plantings. A call was made and they were out to our house to fix the damage and prevent it from happening again. This is a company that takes pride in their work and stands by their work. It was pleasure having Garden Environments work its magic. We highly recommend them.”

“We chose Down to Earth out of 5 landscape companies we interviewed in North Raleigh. Of all that we met, they were the only one's that really listened to specific needs and some special design requests. That made the difference and we rarely give 5 stars for anything. The design process helped us realize a direction we had not considered but chose for the final plan. We started with a general target budget to plan within, then once we narrowed down our choices they gave us complete estimates for all the different parts. This was to a phased approach but it the bullet and had them I stall all the same time. The install crews were pleasant and professional, always cleaning up the the end of the day. I know we made the right decision to have Ben and Dave handle our complicated project. It's refreshing to see customer service done right!”
