“This past summer we hired Landsystems Landscapes to design a backyard retreat for our family. We wanted a space that would be both beautiful and functional, a place for us to entertain our family and friends, but also serve as a private oasis to escape for some peace and quiet. Landsystems were exactly the right people for our job. Not only are they landscape architects, but they’re also contractors. So we knew that if we liked their design ideas we could also hire them to complete the construction too. At first, I worried that hiring landscape designers meant hiring other people’s own personal styles, choices and ideas. I also worried we would be giving up input as to the direction things would go or what we wanted for our space. However, with Landsystems Landscape this was never the case. From their detailed online project questionnaire to multiple design meetings at our house to gain a better understanding of our wants, needs, likes and dislikes Landsystems Landscapes has made the whole design process a collaborative effort that has been both enjoyable and educational. We have felt guided and informed throughout the entire process, never pushed or strayed away from our own likes and the things most important to us. They made sure that we understood each step and felt comfortable and confident with each choice and decision we made. Every person from the Landsystems’ team was professional, respectful, reliable and knowledgeable. In addition, the Landsystems’ personnel made us feel important and valued. They took the time to listen, explain and answer any and all questions we had, even if we asked the same question before or maybe needed a little more explanation or information before feeling completely confident and comfortable with our decision. Of course, a huge factor in our project was budget…everyone has one and everyone is trying to stick to it! Budget was something that we discussed with Landsystems early on in the design process. It was a constant topic and reference point that helped guide our decisions. Landsystems worked very closely with us to stay within our budget without compromising the beautiful design they had created for our backyard. By the end we knew exactly what work was going to be done, how much it was going to cost us and what the final product was going to look like. We were so pleased with Landsystems Landscapes that after the completion of the design process we hired them to implement their creative vision and construct our new backyard. Demolition began a couple weeks ago and we couldn’t be happier with the company, crew and workmanship.”

While your project is underway, Tina stays in contact with the client and the contractors, physically checking in. “We found Kim after putting together a design book on houzz.com. Looking through the photos, we had chosen 4 of Kim's design photos completely by accident. We reached out to her and setup an appointment to get together. She is extremely professional, explained her services, what we could expect to pay and provided references and sample design schematics from other jobs. The thing that struck us right away is that she was walking our property identifying all the plants by their scientific names and could explain why each one was doing well or doing poorly. After hiring her, she took very detailed measurements, photos and ground samples. She look through the Houzz book we created, asked us questions about how we intended to use different aspects of our space and generally get a feel for what we liked and wanted. She came back with an initial design which we reviewed in person and the first draft was great. We had a few changes and she went off to make some changes, etc. She had researched everything about our property including local zoning set-back requirements! She was awesome and we're very pleased with the final design. We are currently getting bids for landscape builders to make our final vision come to life and look forward to showing the pictures of her amazing work when we're able to!”
