Selby Landscapes

Undoubtedly a veritable challenge but a wondrous transformation effected by Selbys! Faced with the daunting prospect of a mid terrace, ramshackle, multi level 'North Face of the Eiger' style rear garden, Selbys magnificently rose to the challenge! Having designed and rebuilt to a very high standard, the rear patio and and upper terraces, with new wide and safe steps, now present a very attractive, pleasing appearance (much admired by visitors who had previously looked askance!). An added bonus - the Selby team were a delight to deal with. Efficient, conscientious, polite and charming, they took great care to preserve my house interior despite the 'landlocked' site and transportation of a lot of building materials! I cannot recommend Selbys highly enough.

Selby designed and carried out full landscaping of our garden. The team who did the work were friendly and professional and worked very hard (even when the weather was very hot). Issues were dealt with in an easy pragmatic way. A couple of practical tweaks were helpfully suggested by Sam/the team and carried out without any fuss. Post project snagging was completed without any issues.

Sean was an exceptionally good project manager, highly competent, courteous and efficient, and his whole team were likewise a great credit to the company. All our neighbours were complimentary about the consideration shown to them. Any challenges that arose in the course of the rather complex project were swiftly solved without fuss.

An exceptional company from initial contact through to designing, budgeting, sourcing materials, planting plans and carrying out the work (even during a heatwave). There was no element of their service we were unhappy with. Sam and his team (ALL lovely guys) were polite, prompt, creative, helpful and real grafters. Any requests from us during the build were met with polite and thoughtful responses, enabling us to end up with exactly the garden we wanted. We are SO grateful to them for creating a space that we'll enjoy for years to come. We could not recommend them more highly. A relatively unspectacular task (replacing a former chicken run with a new lawn, and cleaning up the outside of a shed!) but both were very well and efficiently done, with a finish that looks as though it's been here for years. We left it to the specialists to decide on an attractive pergola on the edge of the lawn, and a "revamping" of a sad old pond. Both ended up looking very attractive and professional. Can really recommend them.

We used Selby Landscapes to create a 30 metre natural stone flight of steps winding through our front garden. The whole team were very professional, friendly, tidy and did a fantastic job. Thank you!

Selby Landscapes were professional, detailed and friendly from start to finish. Design process was first class by Sam and the completion of the job was one of the best services we’ve had. As a garden and landscape designer who commissions installations of client gardens, wherever possible I recommend Selby Landscapes to carry out our projects. From initial discussions, looking over concepts and drawings, meeting with clients, estimating and scheduling processes, through to appointment, clearance, groundworks, construction and planting, each step is efficiently handled and executed. The Selby ‘teams’ are polite, punctual and very good at what they do: stonemasonry, paving, steps, retaining walls, pathways, driveways, planting trees, hedges, shrubs and beds. Many of our projects are gardens of Listed Buildings in Bath where conservation, restoration and re-usage of older materials on original sites are integrated into designs wherever possible. Selby Landscapes are masters of this adaptation and clients are always pleased with this ‘renewal’ of their garden features as well as introduction of contemporary designs. Sam Selby and his team at Selby Landscapes have just completed our garden project of our Bath townhouse. Sam and team were excellent throughout this project, which took approximately four weeks. Everything had to be carried in/out through the house and was done carefully. Quality of workmanship was excellent and any issues that did arise were dealt with promptly and professionally. Would highly recommend.

Our garden was a fairly major project, involving construction on a slope and requiring innovation along the way, and several other landscapers had given us a wide berth because the job was too tricky. Not Sam Selby, thankfully! Sam and his team were reliable, efficient, and friendly. Communication was good throughout, and the standard of work was truly excellent. The curved retaining wall they built for us was a particularly fine piece of craftsmanship. We wholeheartedly recommend Sam and his team for any garden project.

When our building contractors moved off site they left our main lawn in a total mess. Selby Landscapes did an excellent job clearing, preparing and laying good quality turf over this area and we now regularly receive compliments about our 'lovely' lawn. Thank you Selby Landcapes.
