“We are building our new home which is 8000 sq ft. We bought all our light fixtures, all the plumbing fixtures and kitchen appliances from Ferguson in Memphis TN. They are very professional and thorough in their business dealing. If there was any change of order or price, they dealt with it professionally. The prices were great as well! At first we were under the impression that Ferguson was an expensive store , but it completely changed once they price matched everything. Overall we would give them an A+.”

“My wife and I were introduced to Nelson by a kitchen designer we hired. Nelson is in commercial lighting, having done a major airport, conversion of a large corporate headquarters to a hotel, among other very large projects. He happens to live in our town and it was convenient for him to help us with a residential project. Nelson looked at our kitchen plan and described what he had in mind. It sounded great! The next day I received a CAD lighting plan and all the spec sheets for the products he recommended. Nelson stopped by several times to check on things and ultimately to program the switching system. The electricians really enjoyed working with Nelson and they learned a great deal from him. The lighting in our kitchen is a highlight. The cost was reasonable for such a sophisticated plan. Nelson is a pro's pro, and it is clearly reflected in our kitchen. We were really fortunate to be able to work with him and we highly recommend him.”

“We love our outdoor iLighting system from High Quality LED Lighting. We installed a circle driveway and the lighting system creates a warm and welcoming glow to the driveway and walkway at night. The service has been fabulous as well. We had a couple lights that got slightly damaged or stopped working. We sent them back and were given full replacements and/or credit as per our preference. We have gotten a number of compliments from neighbors and happily recommend the product and company.”

“Alloy LED provides LED tape lights with extra long runs with high CRI in a wide variety of Kelvin temperatures. That's everything we're asking for - gotta love that. Also, there are many channels to choose from. And that they're in the San Francisco Bay Area, where we live and work, is an added bonus.”

“Eichen's Lighting is fabulous. A great find for the Bay Area, where I struggled to get good service and a good price. Not to name other stores, but the prominent lighting store in SF has repeatedly been rude and non communicative once I've placed an order, likely because I'm not a designer or have huge orders, but I'm a paying customer that deserves respect. Eichen's on the other hand in locally owned and you get the attention and help you deserve, no matter who you are. They have an amazing selection and their staff are super knowledgeable and will help you find exactly what you're looking for, even if they have to order it. The new showroom is gorgeous and helps bring ideas to life, which is important since Lighting is 3-dimensional and magazine/online doesn't do it justice. The best part is that they are open on the weekends, making it easy for me to shop and pick up deliveries while not taking time off work.”

“David Scott lighting was recommended to me by the interior designer, Tina Voight. Initially I was reticent but decided to do a consult with Scott Dumas who owns David Scott lighting. My vision was total automation and low foot print. No big fixtures screaming Vegas or Liberace. No dangling anything. I wanted mininmalism in both design and quantity least the ceiling look like a piece of Swiss cheese. I found Scott easy to talk to and full of great ideas for lighting the space. The space proved tricky given it's triangular layout and long hallway. Scott had a clean canvas to work with as this was a down to the studs gut and renovation of a full floor condo in the historic Federal Realty building also known as the Cathedral building. We chose RadioRA2 wireless home control system for full automation of a variety of architectural lights. All this can be operated via smart phone and or IPAD. We made a sizable investment in this system which we anticipate will pay off in energy savings over time. More important than that is the realization that the lighting is key to setting the mood of the space and enhancing or inhibiting an experience. You don't really notice good lighting whereas poor lighting shines bright should I say. It was unbelievable how much time went into creating a lighting design that took advantage of the space and the abundance of natural light. Scott was on sight many days ensuring the placement of the lights and the execution of the design and the vision. The result is a design that Is visually stunning and can go from soft and soothing to art gallery high drama.”

Her wonderful sense of space, design, and era helped me transform the lighting in this 1915 classic home into well-lit space without ruining the ceiling lines and overpowering the beautiful interior. Nancy and I became friends through the trials and tribulations of updating the lighting in this spectacular but challenging space. She has worked with me since on two more projects, each very different, with challenges of their own. I am constantly amazed by Nancy's sensitivity to her client, the space, and the era of the space. She never imposes her own tastes; she has a vast amount of experience in many different styles, and she always finds just the right approach for each project. I am also in awe of her knowledge of the latest and greatest technology in the lighting profession. She knows everything there is to know about LED technology, which is absolutely the future of lighting.
