Prior to working with Klaffs, Naomi di Gavriel designed lighting which she manufactiured in CT and sold in her own two Showrooms: Manhattan's D&D Building [ to the trade] and a retail one in CT. She has 40 years experience in lighting the most beautiful homes on the East Coast. Now that experience is available at Klaff's in Danbury CT. A word from Naomi herself, "I have been in the Lighting Business since January 1977, starting as a Lighting Designer- Manufacturer of my own product line. I have created lighting for Baker, Knapp and Tubbs Furniture Company, for Interior Designer Barbara Barry, and I was in charge of the Antiques Lighting Restoration, Design and manufacture of all the Lamp Shade for the Kykuit Restoration of the Rockefeller Historic Home in Pocantico Hills, NY. I have designed lighting for Silver Hill Hospital, for three different Buddhist Temples, several restaurants, many Manhattan townhouses, and the Vincent Hall Wounded Warrior apartments in McLean, VA….to name a few projects that stand out in my mind. Please feel free to contact me to go over any of the fixtures we discussed. It is my pleasure to help you choose the “Jewelry” of your home: beautiful, multi-layered lighting."

In 1963, an electrician had an idea that having an electrical supply store was a lot warmer than wiring new buildings—without heat—in the middle of January. From that day forward, Valley Electric Supply Company was always a warm, inviting, family-style business; offering the best service, value, and advice to its customers. Back in those days, Valley Electric supplied all things electrical to electricians, factories, and proud new homeowners. A small lighting department was added to serve the needs of new homeowners. This was the beginning of one of the largest lighting showrooms in CT. We moved the showroom to a new building three blocks away, and expanded our display space to 13,000 square feet. We moved the supply store back into its old home and created a nice display area for contractors, as well.

In 1972, the Berkshire Lighting Gallery came to life in Danbury, a store name appropriately associated with this small town located in the rolling green hills of the Berkshire Mountains in Connecticut. Originally known throughout the area as Berkshire Gift and Lamp, having built a reputation for service and appreciation for the local community providing giftware, tableware, and a wide variety of lamps. Almost 2 decades later, after an extensive showroom remodeling, the Berkshire Lighting Gallery was reborn with a new look and an expansive and impressive new line of products. Offering brilliant chandeliers, an array of mirrors, decorative accessories, lamps, and an assortment of ceiling fans, the family owned and operated establishment offers something for everyone's lighting needs. As word spread of their professional, helpful, and knowledgeable staff, Berkshire Lighting Gallery found it necessary to expand to a larger 3,000 square showroom in New Milford, Connecticut. Now with room to grow, Berkshire Lighting Gallery can accommodate an ever-expanding inventory selection and stay in line with popular trends in residential and commercial lighting design needs. Whether it's just a light bulb or a complex remodeling project, commercial or residential, you will always experience the local friendly service and professional knowledge associated with the thirty four years, and growing, of the Berkshire Lighting Gallery.
We take pride in being the source in Ct. where lighting, designing and transforming your home is our specialty. We offer home accessories, mirrors, prints, occasional furniture and more. We welcome the opportunity to schedule a house call for updating or replacing your outdoor lighting.
