“Jim Roberts was our contact with Black Diamond for our project which consisted of (1)replacing a poured concrete front walkway that had two steps with pavers on an incline with no steps (this avoids people tripping on the steps at night) ; (2) creating a parking space next to the driveway with pavers; and (3) creating extra patio space using pavers around the back yard pool out of a grass area. Jim provided a nice presentation and competitive estimate and provided valuable creative input that steered us towards good choices of pavers and a great outcome. I was very nervous about the second part of the project (see above) because virtually all of our house utilities (gas, electric, telephone, cable, water line and drain line) all were directly through the area to be paved. Also, two massive tree root systems running through the area had to be hand removed due to being directly over the utilities. Jim and Black Diamond served up a truly outstanding crew that pulled it off without cutting any of the utility lines. Jim had good follow through and represented his company professionally and he would be our first call should we need paver services again. This led to a remodel of the backyard (removal of existing concrete patio, and replacement with stamped concrete; addition of retaining wall and secondary french drain; concrete pour on both side of house with drainage; partial additon to front driveway, remodel of front walkway). All through the original project and remodel, Paul gave me estimates and updates at each steps, worked with me to stay within budget as much as possible, and gave me ideas to help find solutions to any issues that always seem to crop up.
