What's your favourite thing about winter?
Comments (16)My wife and I detest winter and head for the canaries every year for a month or two. This year we leave in mid September and will be back by the end of November ( Unfortunately ). We have reached the point where we now have to consider selling everything and making the permanent move. Let's face it, we haven't even had a summer yet !!...See MoreWhat's the most unique thing about your living room?
Comments (13)My fireplace has to be the special place in my sitting room. The house is a new build, laying empty for six years due to the recession in the construction industry and the country in general. I bought the house as a builders finished project. The back garden is overlooked by the sitting room through patio doors and a large window I decided to create a fireplace that looks cosy on wet dark evenings, but also blends in with the lawn and patio outside, Hence I used concrete 4" blocks fronted with sandstone bricks (Roadstone) to make a raised platform for my cream 11.5kw cream multi-fuel stove. A slab of quarried Indian sandstone placed on the blocks - the perfect finish. To create fireplace backing I used contrasting stone cladding and my local carpenter Philip mad a lovely mantle piece to complete the look....See MoreTell us one thing you love about your home!
Comments (17)Our house is very cosy. I love coming inside after shutting the hens away at night, locking the doors and feeling warm and cocooned tucked away from the outside world. When I go outside in the evening I often hear owls hooting to each other which is just magical....See MoreWhat's the craziest thing a neighbour of yours has done to their home
Comments (15)And when people don’t cut grass mice like it. At my last house the next door was let and when empty they didn’t cut the grass so eventually when it did get cut mice were displaced some into mine. This house was full of crazy stuff inside that we only found out when they tried to sell it but couldn’t. And these houses sell quick usually, I sold mine the first day and completed in six weeks, and my old friend has just sold the first week. Anyway this house had put a massage parlour in the garage all kitted out properly behind from the outside looked like a normal garage door. They kitted out two bedrooms as dressing rooms and the large family bathroom with no windows as a make up room. But apparently it had substantial hooks in the ceiling that people speculated was for an adult play swing! And the large kitchen living area was redone with a massive circular kitchen that looked like a nightclub bar. But at least it looked and still looks normal from the outside....See Morepeediewee
