paint colour suggestions…

Hi, I’m currently in the process of choosing colours for a stable conversion we are doing. I’m stuck on the long hallway/corridor. It’s about 20 meters long broken up with big full length windows and half way along there is an alcove. I really like F&B James white but an stuck with the alcove colour! Any suggestions???

If you go to the F&B website they often have suggestions of what colours go well together. It is difficult to suggest a colour without a picture or at least advise what the floor is etc?

Thanks for your comment, I’ve looked on F&B and they pair it with Green but was hoping someone on here had used James White with a different colour. The flooring is going to Be a wood effect tiled floor (Porcelenosa’s Manhattan colonial tile) https://www.porcelanosa.com/uk/manhattan-colonial-29-4x120

Hi. I used these tiles in my main bathroom and painted the walls boring white. Couldn't face any more paint decisions at the time. However, it has worked out well with accessories. Some weeks I have an orange week with orange towels and bath mats which is just gorgeous. Other weeks I go grey and white or grey and black. Sometimes it's pale blue or bright pink. These tiles are so versatile, you'd get away with any colour. Now that I've got over my paint decision overload, I am strongly considering painting the walls grey. Like the idea of downpipe grey, farrow and ball.

Hi Jan, This wallpaper is perplexing. It seems to change tone in different sunlight - in cloudy conditions the background has a yellow tinge to it and in bright sunlight, more of a pinky cream. I discovered a custom duvet fabric that we had made for a client do this, and it became a real palava because the fabric looked completely different at night vs the day - day it looked perfect & at night it clashed with many of the other soft furnishings - ugh. Saying that, the suggestion made to contact the manufacturer and ask what paint colour they suggest may be a very good one. Otherwise, the method I suggested along with many of the lovely specific paint suggestions here - hold those swatches up to the wallpaper at different times of the day & then do the sample paint test on the wall to make sure - will probably be your best bet. It depends on what sort of 'feel' you like. I like quite neutral spaces with lots of texture so stoney colours, natural leather feels very relaxed to me. Little Greene have some new colour cards out with 'Stone' colours on, all sorted in warms to cools, it may be worth ordering one. They do light and dark versions of each colour so you could select specific ones for each room. They also specify 'accent' colours for the odd wall so all round a good choice.

I think it would work with drop cloth, mouses back or light gray as they’re neutral but with the green undertone
