Colours to go with skimming stone - East facing bedroom and wardrobe

Hello,

Could anyone help with choosing a bedroom colour.

I'm finding it tricky finding a east facing bedroom colour, that works well with a skimming stone hallway. I had narrowed it down to continuing skimming stone through and adding a colour to the full height wardrobes. Light Blue (with London Clay) was another option but this may feel too cold? Elephant's Breath seems dated or could this be modernised by adding an accent colour. The only other room you can see from the bedroom is the bathroom which we are likely to paint Dead Salmon but not set on this yet.

The space is light an airy 3.6m x 3.6m, 2.4m ceilings

In other rooms I have Selvedge and Strong white, plus a colour matched to a Ferm Living pot.

Have you been on to the F&B website to see the colours they suggest to go with skimming stone? Elephants Breath is there but so is Pelt which looks like that deep purple? swatch you have. That would look fab on wardrobes I think.

I must have tried every grey shade as samples in the past few weeks as I want a very light grey. Farrow & Ball do a nice mid grey called Plummet. Dulux mix lab also do some nice ones & can be mixed in a flat matt. I am having a pale grey bedroom with a white bed & probably black side tables. I love silver with grey too but copper is also nice. You can also paint it again if you don't like the shade (that is what I am telling myself !).

Hi I think F&B Borrowed Light is lovely for a bedroom (1st pic) for a light airy feel, or for more vivid colour Green Blue is fab (2nd pic). All depends on what feel you want the room to have and how much light you get, I see its dual aspect - which direction do those windows face?

Why not try to colour match all walls / wardrobe to the curtain colour and use an accent colour or even better wallpaper behind the headboard picking up on the teal Mongolian fur cushions? Wallpaper does not have to be patterned if you don’t want to add that element, even plain with texture would add interest and make your lovely dark wood furniture stand out. Hope that helps.....

Hi Elena, Our recommendation would be to paint the whole room, including woodwork, in Pure Brilliant White. With one exception, the feature wall - the wall opposite the windows. The feature wall would reflect the light coming in from windows and its colour onto the rest of the room. This would alow for max. brightness while lights on. Worth mentioning is the fact any colour (even whites!) will look darker/different while in north facing room. Good luck! Paintforme

Thank you! F&B suggested Light Blue but i feel its too cool for an East facing room. I’ve only painted the wardrobes in this so far:

The walls/ceiling are now skimming stone as I thought maybe following the colour through from the hall but it appears very warm in this room compared to the hallway. F&B then suggested Pale Powder but is this too aqua:

Pale powder or similar:

Or skimming stone and add dead salmon

Maybe just stick with a pale pastel shade so even though it’s a separate area it won’t jar if it’s different. I’m confused with all those colours and pictures! So what colour are the wardrobes? Are they the light blue? What other colours are in the room such as other furniture and bedding? 😊

Thanks! Sorry, the wardrobes are light blue and the walls are skimming stone. We are yet to buy furniture and need new bedding so nothing to tie into yet
