Wacky Wallpaper For Garden Room

Hello again everyone, we are in the middle of turning our conservatory into a year-round orangery and wondered if we could have your thoughts on wallpaper please.

We want to wallpaper the entire back wall which is 8.5m long and 2.3m high. We can't decide between villas, flowers or pomegranites! My husband really likes the Villas (Osborne & Little Villa Como) but I can't help thinking that it mght look weird at Christmastime! The garden room comes off our kitchen via a narrow corridor and we will be able to see the wallpaper through the kitchen door from the kitchen as well as all around the garden. The floor will be terracotta bricks. Any other suggestions of papers are more than welcome. Thank you so much.

I'm not sure about whacky but this company has some beautiful subtle ones.

The room looks lovely! i really like the como one but think I’d be tempted to go floral’ish to bring the outside in? Although feeling like you’re on a permanent holiday isn’t a bad thing!

A few of Lewis and Wood papers are beautiful and i think would sit well with the house. Some of theirs feature sort of vertical patterns like Adam’s Eden which should make the walls seem higher

Welcome Emma, They are top of the range and so they will not carry high street prices...but they have fabulous quality.. I would rather paper 1 wall in something beautiful that all walls with lesser quality. mrsmcee's links for John Lewis is often good too as you can see a range of companies under 1 roof.. I don't know of the others though but they are probably like JL with a range of designers under the 1 roof.. If you can get to the design centre though.. it's worth a look... There are a few fabulous places.... : ))

Thanks for your input @minnie101 I really wanted oak parquet with big rugs, we've had 14 years of amtico and rugs downstairs and hubby's desperate for more comfort. Due to so much needing doing next year we thought rather than installing beautiful parquet and then covering 80% with rugs we'd try carpet for this through room. I don't love the idea but it definitely saves ££££ for other things and we never use those French doors to the patio, we use another set, so don't need to worry about stepping onto carpet from outside, and I can still have my parquet in my new shaker kitchen. Is carpeting the full space a really bad idea? A large rug in sitting area and again under dining table section?

Hi P108 P What we know is that she is a teenager, and doesn't like pinks, but she likes greens and blues. Consider painting ceiling and walls in different colour than white - consult with her. I like the 4th one still in the wallpaper book. Love the botanical vibe and the colours. I can imagine gorgeous rich velvet seating but I’m a bit obsessed with velvet! Like the villas one, reminds me of my dad’s village. Heaven on earth 😊

Yes it's lovely Sonia and that is the one that we bought the book home for with a dark green background to match the windows (you may remember my window colour post, we went for green in the end!) It just so happened that the page fell open on the Italian Villas and we were off on a tangent!

Thank you Jonathan. It was quite a decision to re-vamp the old conservatory.

It is a gorgeous orangery, very stylish. I daren’t ad, what I suggested! I also love the garden and the paving, especially the large slabs with the small sets. Whoever designed that is a genius! Good luck with your wallpaper choice.

Hi Sonia you suggested black! And that was our original choice. It was a huge decision to go for green windows but we are very pleased with them. Hopefully they will look even nicer when the fascia is finished in green too. Thank you for your lovely comments re the garden. I love gardening and can't wait to sit in this room and look at the garden (with a backdrop of Italian Villas, or maybe wild flowers, or maybe birds!) :)
