pendant lights in dining kitchen

We are getting the wall knocked down between our kitchen and dining room. We will have ceiling spotlights and under cabinet led lights but I’m struggling to work out what to have over the breakfast bar area and if we will need one over dining table too. We currently have this over the table in the current dining room.. photos are the design of the new dining kitchen.. Also not sure what radiator colour to go for. any advice please?

For me, I wouldn’t put any extra lighting above the breakfast bar as it could look a little cluttered, but I would put something over the dining table, either your current light or something else. As to radiators I’m not a fan of vertical radiators (I know I’m in the minority here!) as I find them quite intrusive in a room. Colour depends on the colours in the room. As you have a pale kitchen then I would go with a light colour. You can’t go wrong with white when the room has a light and airy vibe.

I agree with Sonia. The breakfast far is too small to need extra lighting. I have spotlights just in my kitchen area, and a pendant light fitting over my dining table. White radiators would look better.

Luciana I get you, I had a similar dilemma re the Tom Dixon lights, and ended up finding some gorgeous vintage copper lights which I like more, are more unusual, and haven't seen in anyone else's home. I had the central light re-positioned over the kitchen table (it's a large 70s onion shaped copper coloured one that moves up and down). I love it over the table and it sits quite low and looks great. At night we only have that one on and the rest of the kitchen disappears (including the washing up!) so it feels more intimate. I then found 2 more smaller ones that are over the sink and benchtop, and higher up than the table one. They are all different but the same 70s copper style so they look good together and I love them. People often comment (in a good way) as they add a bit of interest and personality to the room.

Hi Opun Team The teal blue will be going over the island/breakfast bar which is 2,7m x 1.6m and the cluster of three will be going over the dining table but not in the way shown in the picture (they will be a different heights and a bit closer together). The kitchen diner end of the room is 6.7m x 3.7m however the whole room is L shaped 8.6m width with bifolds . I will try and attach a plan. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Daisy - we could do, all the same height? Wumi - the table isn’t fixed, it might move but not far. i dodny know track pendants existed so will definitely have a look. I’ve spotted the ’rise and fall’ fixtures. I thought that might work - one over each and then we could lower when eating at the dining table?
