Can I fit in a kitchen Island?
Comments (8)Original kitchen becomes a utility/laundry room. I'll be doing an single storey extension out to the rear which would be a dining and lounge area with skylights. That rear window and wall would come down to create an open kitchen. What is labelled as the dining room would be a cosy living room with log burning stove. Fireplace in the new kitchen would be turned into a feature; perhaps housing a wine chiller and rack. Other option is to take out the centre wall with the fireplace, but I feel I shouldn't totally remove such original features and I like the idea of having a utility room. Though I should add I am aware of what supporting walls are (especially with fireplaces) and the complications with removing them....See Moreno space for dishwasher
Comments (1)It seems a shame to have a washing machine in your dining area........and there may indeed be problems with plumbing especially as it is a rented property. Would it be possible to site the washing machine in the bathroom as is done in most European countries except the UK where we tend to have them in the kitchen if we don't have a specific utility area?...See MoreNeed advise on fitting a raised dishwasher in an in frame kitchen.
Comments (4)Thank you for noticing our project with an accessible dishwasher, this information may help you plan your own installation. As shown in this photo lifting the dishwasher 12” AFF will create a void from the top of the dishwasher cabinet to the cabinets above. Resting the wall cabinet above on the lower cabinet will close in the void. You can also lift the dishwasher the height of your backsplash, typical is 18” high....See MoreCan I fit a dishwasher in my existing kitchen
Comments (6)Thank you all. So I measured up. The cabinet on the right + the clearance next to the sink is around 48 cm. So my question is if we remove the cabinet can we put a frestanding slimline dishwasher. What will the countertop rest on in that case?...See More- 20 days ago
