Living room revamp ideas - help
Comments (9)Hi again it was me that replied to the last one. I really like the room the green is lovely and I don't think the furniture is outdated. It just seams dark that's maybe why you think it's outdated. I'd possibly introduce another colour maybe a duck egg blue and add feature paper on the chimney breast where you have it painted brown you can get some lovely wallpaper. Then add cushions and maybe a throw over the sofa with the blue and green colours. Play with different patterns in your accessories. And defiantly keep the dog! Haha! I'll try and find some pictures for you to kind of see what I'm talking about...See MoreI'm planning to upgrade my living room floor
Comments (2)I have a wood effect vinyl floor in my hallway and lounge. It's been down for 10 years, looks as good as new even though we have a dog and cat. It's easy to clean, and it's warm underfoot. And visitors think it's real wood. It has a wood grain texture to it. I don't know what brand it is but I can definitely recommend a good quality vinyl....See MoreI’m after some advice about what colour to paint my living room.
Comments (1)Hi - Your living room space looks amazing and has a lot of light coming through. As this is a living room you will be relaxing and spending quite a bit of time here I would suggest a neutral colour, such as a soft pink or a warm cream. Pink is having a come back but more sophisticated and grown up. Your brown sofa will work well against pink also. Also if you add lots of greenery in your living room it will not only connect the outside with the indoors but pink and green looks fab when put together! If you also buy pieces which match the colour of your bi-folds they would stand out against a neutral and will make the space feel connected. Colours you could try are Farrow and Ball; Pink Ground, Setting Plaster would look pretty too, Oxford Stone would look great with the brown sofa too. Alternatively you could have a feature wall, with one colour darker Hope this helps Rukmini Patel Interiors...See MoreWhat colour/style of living room furniture would suit my living room?
Comments (4)Going for a white sofa would help create a light and airy living room. The white sofa would match the airy elements you already have in the room: the light pastel wallpaper and blue chimney heart, the white skirting, the light coloured wooden flooring. The black of the fireplace hearth can be tied together with details like black legs for the white sofa, black legs (maybe hair pin legs) for a white coffee table or for a cabinet (cabinets with legs look very smart: https://www.buzzfeed.com/alisoncaporimo/legs-for-days). Black cross legged lounge chair & ottoman in a navy blue would match the navy curtains. See through furniture helps for an uncluttered feel: transparent chairs, glass table, thin furniture legs, x leg ottomans. The window coverings also have to be in light materials. Consider introducing flowy sheer fabric with or instead of the navy curtains. White or light pastel coloured area rugs in the room and avoid choosing area rugs featuring heavy and busy patterns. Braided area rugs in pastel and light colors also make a good selection. Some pictures below:...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
