Not sure how best to Accessorise my room
Comments (27)Laura Ashley sells a round mirror a bit like the one in your photo which would look good. I think it may look better if you moved the clock to a different wall, otherwise it might look like you are trying to match the clock on the second chimney breast. Have other art work on the walls would help detract from wonky levels too. The room looks lovely btw!...See MoreHow do you heat your home?
Comments (19)At home, we have underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathrooms. The other rooms are still heated by electric storage heaters, which I hate as they are far too unresponsive. I'll replace them as the rooms get refurbished, one day. Nearly all of our customers now have underfloor heating, either electric or in-screed water pipes....See MoreHow do you choose a building contractor once you have your drawings?
Comments (6)Hi Cat. I hope this helps - rather than reproduce it here, we've written a series of blogs, hints and tips around this subject, and one of the links is below - it sounds like you are already well down the line, so you'll just refer to the relevant bits. Suffice to say that if you have the time, you can do this yourself. I've always found it best (both as a home owner and as a professional) to engage directly with a number of local contractors and to meet them on site to make sure they really understand the requirement before they price the work (things like access, skip locations and so on they will need to know); I would not trust this to an on-line process. There is no substitute for personal contact where you not only have the opportunity to explain any issues directly, you will also get a feel for the contractor with which you can work best. Part of this selection process is in listening to each contractor's thoughts which are often useful. I hope this link works and that it helps (you'll find subsequent links which lead you to other aspects of project work that you may find of interest) ... click here...See MoreHow many mirrors do you have in your house?
Comments (27)sianember - Love the mirrors! They bring back happy memories. I have a business 'upcycling' furniture - although I've been doing it for over 20 years now and recycling was hardly a thing, let alone upcycling, in those days :D - but I started out selling mirrors on Greenwich market. A friend and I would find old mirrors in junk shops (this was in the halcyon days when every high street had at least one, sadly they are few and far between now) and we would 'pimp' them and sell them. We were particularly fond of using shells as they were free, meant we got to spend a day at the seaside and we could use the children to collect them!...See Morepavinia
