Good morning! The wood choice is African mahogany and we aren't sure what type of stain was used, but it was a Sikken's product. When you order we can always send wood samples for you to test out ahead of time. The door(s) would arrive hand-sanded, ready for finishing and the stain of your choice. We also send care instructions with the order so you know how to complete the finishing, or have your contractor/finisher complete. Hi both - so sorry but this is a really old post (at least a year ago now! Lol) so we have already finished all the flooring. We ended up wimping out after sanding the kitchen and dining room and ended up putting wood flooring down. The wood was just too soft and we would have needed to fill in all the gaps as there was a draft through to the ground. However we did paint the main bedroom floor in white which I LOVE. Except .. on all the instructions I read online, no one mentioned priming with a knot blocker so I have to go over it all again as they are showing through and it looks grubby

Ouch! Don't give up just yet - walls aren't absorbent so you may be able to save it. Have you tried baby wipes? If that didn't work, do the following: 1) Fill a bucket half full with warm water. 2) Add detergent - just enough to get a few bubbles when you agitate the water. 3) Wet a cloth in the water and rub gently on the stain (wear rubber gloves to protect your hands!) 4) Rinse the cloth and repeat as necessary, starting at the bottom and working your way up to avoid drip marks. 5) If the stain remains, dry the area thoroughly with a towel before moving on to step six. 6) When the surface has dried, rub a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser over the stain. Given their condition, neither would be a good option. You would have to replace the damaged boards and those riddled with woodworm unless they've been treated.

A very personal choice, really - do you have any key pieces of furniture in wood that will be in the space? What wood & tone are they? With pine being a rather "knotty" wood, my personal preference is either a darker stain or a white/lime wash, though the latter would be less practical with kids/animals. Take care with the plainer clear stains, as they can make pine quite orange which, for me, still feels a little dated sometimes. Think also what colour schemes you envision for the space - that may also guide you towards or away from certain colours. Nice boards, though! A lot of hard graft to get them like that, I have no doubt!
