Long narrow hallway

I am moving into lovely apartment that previous owners had put down black & white tiles , really nice from John Lewis , walls are cream at the moment - so 2 questions , 1 should I paint walls different colour? and what should I dress walls with ? All help appreciated.

It is really depends on your taste..what would you like to see as soon as you open your door..that disconnect you from the outer busy life into warm relaxing atmosphere :-))

also good to pinpoint a focal point ( usually at the end opposite the entrance ) and put something interesting there with good lighting to focus your view !

Hello, the best colours may be beige or white, or maybe pale colours - green, blue, yellow - so the lighting could reflect great. The example below gives an idea. Ceiling lights are best - the white energy saving lights; not to many on the walls, leave them bare or put colourful, warm paintings or articles from books or newspapers to be creative.

Get any colour you want in Dulux diamond eggshell. Expensive but it's scrubbable. I use it in bathrooms and multi-million pound laboratories to give you an idea of how amazingly resistant it is. P.s I have 2 children, two years old and 7 months old. My entire house is in brilliant white diamond eggshell.... Zero problems. Just wipe it off. It's expensive at approximately £85 for 5 litres but in my eyes worth it.

It really depends a lot on carpets, natural light and existing fittings that need to stay. From what you've mentioned I'd obviously go for light colours and perhaps a light feature wallpaper. Mirrors also open up a space and help reflect natural light. It would also help if you have anything that needs to go into this room, to describe it or include a picture as you need to work around what you've got and I'm sure the will be loads of people with great ideas out there!

Hi Pauline, We think a subtle grey shade would work well in your space, helping to break up the cream and brown while playing off the duck egg blue.
