Two different roofs???

Help!! The house on the left is being completely renovated.!! The barn (pictured at left) is brand new. The dilemma is do we match the color of the roof on the barn to the roof on the house? The barn sits directly in front of the house so you see both of them. The owner painted the barn a rusty red with a beige trim which at times gives the roof color a rose colored appearance. She's afraid the same thing will happen to,the house if she uses the same roof. The roof color of the barn is a fawn color.

The more significant factor is the barn is a standing seam roof compared to an architectural shingle. They provided two entirely different aesthetic results. A standing seam will enhance your home significantly compared to a 3 tab shingle.

Hi, I have a small Victorian terrace house with the typical 22ft long, narrow living room. At one end I have a solid oak dining table with dark chocolate coloured chairs. At the other end will be the sofa which I haven't bought yet. I have chosen leather for it's durability and easy cleaning as I have a dog. I have picked a sofa based on looks, comfort, fillings etc. It comes in a choice of leathers. My question is, can I have two different shades of brown leather in the same room? I don't want them to match. The walls will probably be white and I plan on having a white or similarly neutral coloured fabric wing back chair by the sofa next to the fire which will kind of sit between the two items in question. I (think) I have posted a picture of the chairs and the two possible sofa swatches side by side. This is my first house, I 've never had to decorate before!? Thank you in advance : )

I agree that voile rollers will give you privacy and still look modern, and Romans on top will give you blackout and bring colour to the room. We got voile rollers at the front as we are overlooked and they are brilliant.

Personally I don’t think this space suits two doors to the bedroom and as a result you are compromising with the bath being undersized. Having tried a similar bath in a hotel last year you might well find you don’t use it because you can’t relax in a sit up bath. So I offer an alternative with a drop in bath, and an extra deep space for the vanity so you can have deep above basin storage and an unobscured sea view all the way through the room

We do plan on using a standing seam roof on the house. The question is whether to use the same roof as on the barn or to go with a darker brown color.

Your siding appears beige and the standing seam looks to be gray. If that is the case, the gray should compliment your siding and give your home a cooler effect from reflecting the sun (an added "green" bonus. A darker brown will contribute to heat load).
