How do I dress these windows?

My living room has a large cathedral style window (made up of 4 individual windows) with floor to ceiling windows on either side. The windows will have the sun on them from the late afternoon and into the evening. Any ideas on options for dressing these windows? Any advice will be greatly appreciated :-)

Comments (5)Hi mlockwood - not necessarily would be our answer. If you have frames painted a distinctive colour - like black - then it might look smarter to co-ordinate. But for plain white window frames we think any colour shutter looks fab! The frames of the shutters will of course be the same colour, and a white frame on the window only highlights the clean lines. Comments (27)I have decided that shutters/venetian blinds make rooms darker, gather dust and are fairly 'heavy' to look at, so, not for me. All others options are quite ok according to the situation of the property and personal taste. 9 years agoIt all depends on where you live...Most local blind places can source these..and not something you can really hang yourself - Hunter Douglas and even Home Depot can work with you on these.
Jean - Consider a Belgium Linen. Almost as soft as chiffon but a bit more weight then the chiffon and a wonderful texture. They lay on the window like butter.

9 years agoLucidos, what a beautiful fabric thank you, I've been looking online for UK stockists (I'm in Scotland). Would you also drape the linen around either of the side windows (each side of the large gable) or would you just put blinds on these? Would you stick to a natural colour for the blinds - hessian?
My plan for the room is very neutral at the moment: dark walnut flooring, rose white walls, oak roof beams and a neutral suite & matching stripy love seats (swatch pic attached). I'm thinking Plum would be a nice colour to add - plum cushions, ottoman and very light plum for the linen drapes - not sure if this will look ok.
