Breathe life into my new kitchen/family room
Comments (10)Wow! Thanks to all of you for your comments. I think the room in Susanna's picture is beautiful but I think I want a slightly less romantic feel if you can see what I mean? I think I'm trying to get a modern, clean lines look that will major on natural palette BUT that is softened by some texture and I think a pop of colour rather than lots of colour. The Dining Chairs are black leather with brushed steel legs - no wood. I like the greeny blue colour backsplash in mrsmcee74's picture but might want something a little more punchy if I went with that palette. Love the John Lewis Dandelions - had them in the bedroom for a couple of years but that room is next in my list! This is really making me think about what I want for the kitchen / family room. Very helpful indeed!!...See MoreI need help please to bring my sitting room to Life!
Comments (9)Hi. It's quite difficult to work out the whole room from the pics and exactly what your style is. If the room can take it I'd go for a mid tone grey on the walls so there isn't as much contrast with the sofas but if not a pale but warm grey. Swap the rug for something plain but with texture so a natural coloured sisal for instance so it doesn't make the room feel smaller with such a contrast between rug and floor. I'd use orange as the accent colour so maybe grey patterned curtains with orange cushions and additional artwork. It may also be worth considering blinds rather than curtains to give the sofa some space. I would also pick another colour like green or teal etc to liven it up for just a couple of accessories. Use a mixture of textured and patterned cushions. put something in the middle of the dining table be it a plant or flowers or vase etc. also consider the lighting as table and floor lamps will add a cosy feel. Can you move the dining table so it's central under the light and add a feature pendant (maybe with some orange!)? The existing art looks as if it is hung a little high so would rehang a few inches lower and align over the sofa. Is it a table in front of the tv? Can that be moved in front of the sofa and accessorised? A plant and a couple of piles of books are cheap accessories! Is there anyway to move the furniture to cover the ŵall sockets or maybe disguise with a potted plant?...See MoreElephants Breath Living Room
Comments (5)Hi Christal99 I'd suggest sticking with the mix of Elephant's Breath and Skimming Stone rather than a blue-grey wall as I think a blue could be too cold. If you wanted the feature wall to be a touch more grey you could use Purbeck Stone for the feature wall with Skimming Stone for the rest of the walls. For all wood work I'd suggest using the feature (darker) wall colour. Hope that helps! PB...See More5 quirky floors to breathe new life into your interiors
Comments (0)Tired of the same old interiors? We don’t blame you. Everyone likes to put their own individual spin on their home interior, but sometimes it can be hard to find inspiration from the high street. Don’t worry – there is help at hand. We offer a fantastic range of quirky laminate flooring to spice up your home interior and give guests something to be really impressed by. Here are 5 quirky floors to breathe new life into your interiors this year – and best of all, this selection covers the whole house, so you can pick and choose where you next update your floor. 1.Balterio Xpressions Domino Laminate Flooring If drama is your thing, you’ll love this black and white floor with its quirky pattern and square edges providing a smooth, seamless finish. It instantly draws the eye down, so if you want your floor to be the focal point of your room, this is the one for you. Add more drama to your home interior by pairing this wooden laminate floor with a dark wall colour – it would look great in your den or for a wow-factor spare bedroom, because it just exudes elegance. This floor is also suitable for underfloor heating, so the options for having it all over the house are abundant. 2.Executive Herringbone Multi Parquet Laminate Parquet flooring will never go out of style, but now with a laminate range it doesn’t mean going over budget either. This floor is a great way to add a luxurious feel to your home interior, and with the multi-coloured wood it’s also a bit different to the classic parquet flooring styles which are popular today. Use this in your living room for a classic and timeless floor, or in the master bedroom for a touch of elegance. It’s been rated suitable for heavy commercial use, so if you use it in your home you can be guaranteed a floor that will last for many years. Not only is it a quirky floor to breathe new life into your home interior, but it’s a great investment too. 3.Balterio Senator Antwerpen Oak Laminate Flooring Fresh, fun and stylish – it’s what every floor should be, and with the Balterio Senator Antwerpen Oak laminate flooring you can be sure it will add a much-needed energy to your tired home interior. This light coloured floor is an excellent choice for smaller homes to make the space feel bigger, and in smaller bedrooms when paired with white furniture and textured furnishings it will help create the Scandi-chic effect which is very on trend at the moment. It has great durability and is easy to install – just a few additional reasons why we think you’ll love this laminate wooden floor. 4. Balterio Xpressions Piano Laminate Flooring Jazz up (pun intended) your living room with this piano laminate flooring option, with its classic black and white finish. This floor is eye-catching, unique and very attention grabbing – just the thing if you’re trying to introduce more wow-factor into your living space. As this monochromatic colour scheme works with most other colours you won’t be stuck for ideas when it comes to choosing furniture or wall colours to match. We would recommend this floor in your hallway to immediately set the tone for your quirky home interior. 5. Balterio Dolce Vita Harmony Laminate Flooring This floor is anything but dull. These boards are in varying degrees of silver and grey, so not only are they totally on trend but they are likely to be for some time – the ideal way to make a clever long-term investment in your home.
