Hi, oh its so hard to get started isn't it when you have so many ideas! I always find the best way is to make a little mood board for each room. put your ideas that you have onto paper for each room, and take it from there. decide what is most important for each room, for example have you found a sofa you love for the living room or already have an existing one? if so, take a sample of that fabric and find a paint that works with that, and the sofa becomes your key piece to make your decisions around for that room. you may have a painting you love or some fabric you want your curtains to be made from, and you can use these to make your paint choices. You also need to decide if you want the same colour throughout the property or if you want each room to have its own style. either way, its important to make sure they flow because you can make the property look a bit to haphazard if there isn't some cohesion. Just really think about what you love and what you want to achieve for your look, and look at ideas on pinterest and instagram. Failing that, call in an interior designer to help with some ideas! I like the dark blue. I have a similar/perhaps the same colour on part of my fence to compliment the grey. It’s Cuprinol Garden Shades Iris. My neighbour has the pale blue painted on his son‘s play house and it’s vile. On the next road to me a fence has also been painted in the pale blue and that looks wishy washy too. In the Cuprinol range there are lots of colour choices and it’s fabulous stuff and so easy to put on. Perhaps look at the green colours?

Here's Little Sh*t looking highly unimpressed. In between coats, hence masking tape still around the doors. My sister - who disagrees with me on everything - doesn't like it. (She also wanted me to paint the woodwork, but it's oiled and I have just treated it again so paint would roll off. I don't have time to strip it all.) I tried the sage as most rooms off are white, cream, or similarly neutral. Thoughts? Should I have gone paler or darker, etc?

It looks like you all get the idea. There are no limits, apart from our imagination, to the configurations. I have no idea why they are called jib doors. Does anyone know? I do know from experience though that they work a treat. Many years ago I was visiting Abbotsford the home of Sir Walter Scott. I was lost in reverie taking in the contents of a lovely room when the wall moved and a woman appeared. I quite literally jumped out of my skin! She turned out to be a grand daughter of Sir Walter Scott who very kindly explained the door mechanism. I think she took secret pleasure in startling visitors!
