what's more important, a big dining kitchen or a separate dining room? Both would obviously be ideal, but which would be your preferred option out of the two.
I have a farmhouse table in my kitchen - and an island with NO seating - as I wanted people to eat at the table and cook in the kitchen ! I find now that there's usually a 'taster' hanging about in the kitchen end by the island while I'm cooking ! So perhaps I should have put one stool in after all !!!
I find that it works really well to combine the kitchen and dining. It is not often these days that we have formal dinner parties. The kitchen tends to be the heart of the home still and separate dining rooms end up being neglected and un-used.
That made me smile and is so true OnePlan. Personally I always go for a kitchen diner for the same reasons as Jaimie but also because the sense of space is so much more relaxing to work in as well. Choose a good classic design and colour for the kitchen units so that you can zone the dining area in complimentary colour if you want to.
