Need help with choosing style and color or colors of rug

This is a photo of my sofa and I have a loveseat with glass top coffee table with chrome legs and shell lamps. My floor is laminate but I need help in choosing an area rug. I do not want shag.

What other colours do you have going on the room? If you're going for drama a bright splash of colour would awaken your space. If you're leaning towards the muted then go for a dark neutral colour- you need some contrast so it's not boring.

Hi, I think there are a lot of rugs that could work here. Here's a couple I'm not sure what style you like, hope this helps

Thank you both very much. I think we will stick with white (as we are not changing the right hand side door for the time being) and we will remove the small top sections on the windows to keep them bigger and cleaner and add lead lines for those front windows (and no lead line at the back of the house as there is a modern extension anyhow).

I would choose something very close to that deep red/rust/plum (can't quite work out what it is) in the granite. It looks as if that colour is also in the tea towel on the right (hanging on the handle in front of the oven). Everything else is so light I think the room would take it well and it would give it wow factor. You need a warm colour, as someone else has said, to tone with the cream of the cabinets and the granite.

Well the walls have been repainted at last. And the winner was....................... F&B Cromarty! Second was Mizzle, but it looked a little too dark in my north facing room, but it was a close contender. Thank you all for your brilliant advice. We both love the colour, and you can see how different it is in various areas. E D - the sofas are now away from the walls and the castors are sitting on brass cups (the plastic ones shattered) and it has worked, they don’t move!

This is a pic of my room. I like turquoise but wasn't sure if it would clash with the lime green in my cushions. Do you think grey or green would brighten up the space as I don't have a lot of light that is why I chose the glass tables?
