Blank canvas living room

We're moving into a brand spanking new house in May and need ideas for a complete blank canvas living room as not sure where to start!
The floorplan is attached so you can see the layout - big window one side and double doors into the garden.
Other bits - walls painted white, and no fireplace.
Key considerations - we have a dog so sofa will likely be a dark hardwearing colour, and we're thinking a corner would work well in the room, with the TV on the wall closest in the plan.
We have some teal colour bits but nothing that can't be replaced really.
Worried if we go for a dark carpet too could look too dark but we need practical too!
