Window Treatment for Kitchen

Our kitchen is being extended and there are two windows where I had hoped to hang curtains but unfortunately the windows are so close to each other and the corner of the room (24cm in one case and 22 in the other) that there isn't room for either rods or curtain housing. I had thought of Roman blinds but would be grateful for any other ideas. The room is dark and needs as much light as possible from the windows.
