What Colour for wall paint against grey sofa?

Hi, having recently moved into a new home, we re really having a dilemma as to what colour paint for the walls in our small living room.
We have a large grey sofa, and we we're thinking of the colour mink but not sure if this will be too dark.
The room really is a blank canvas so any ideas would be much appreciated. And any ideas to accessorise would also be great.

Hello Plymouthlass,

You have a good amount of seating in your Living Room, and a nice, neutral grey to work from in the sofa fabric. I’d suggest adding some warmth and interest to the room. Wallpaper would work well; alternatively some eye catching art work would look great along the main wall behind the sofa with painted walls (re-hanging the existing mirror on a side wall). I’d then add a rug under your coffee table and two side tables either side of your small sofa. These side tables would be a great place to locate a pair of table lamps. If you need additional storage in your room, trunks rather than side tables would give you storage and table space. A big difference would be to add a touch of softness and texture to your window by adding a pair of curtains with tiebacks would be ideal. Don’t forget to try and fit your curtain pole near the ceiling as this creates the illusion of a greater ceiling height.

I would go for a light duck egg colour or a pale pink with matching items around the room

Hi Suzie, could you perhaps do something a bit out of the box and choose something that is a splash of colour? Like a found object? Chinese ceramic stools? you can also go to vintage fairs etc. Or some companies source and stock interesting pieces. This is one : http://www.retrouvius.com/stock/storage I think more grey would be dull, more black would indeed make the room feel too small. I quite like the idea of timber for your chest of drawers etc. Difficult to visualise the space thought! Colour choice is pretty personal. I am partial to blues and purples.. but that is just me! Hi, Kitchen looks awesome. I like to go for f&b cornforth white, really is a subtle colour which allows the kitchen to really stand out. But it’s enough of a colour to add some interest and not just white. The blues looks nice but personally I find them all quite cold looking.

If you want it to be all the same colour to match the grey sofa then look at dove grey fascias. They will also mix better with the wooden effect flooring as opposed to what you have now as that clashes against the wooden kitchen doors

It will look fab. A pale grey carpet is such a gentle colour and I don’t feel it would clash. You could add a rug if you wish as below, but entirely up to you.
