Bathroom combined utility

I'm looking for base units to cover a 3m space in my attic ensuite, I'm having a tough time because I'd like to integrate a washing machine. Bathroom vanity units I'm loving are too shallow for washing machines I'm thinking it's got to be kitchen units now but it's not ideal.
Anyone seen this done, I'd also like a make up station in there too somewhere.

Have you already got the machine ? If not consider, an integrated machine as they aren't a cube shape - they have a plinth indent and are much easier to build in ! Kitchen cabinets can be used in bathrooms too - sometimes the wall units, as base units, work well for narrower cabinets !

Hey OnePlan! Have you seen this?! http://www.smeg.com/press-release/washing-machine-with-sink/ anyway I fell in love with that for the babies bathroom but I can't get it in the UK Smeg tell me. Anyway, I haven't got the washing machine for my bathroom yet, an integrated washing machine into kitchen units is as far as I got... But they are all so kitcheny! I've seen a sink unit on a curved stand at Neptune but I don't see how this will work. Unless I put the washing machine in a cupboard.

Update:- I'm looking at whether we can move the wood burner so we could put the dining area where the lounge is, which would increase the bathroom/utility room inside the house by another 4'4 wide x 7'1 . Also means we don't have to build a side extension just for the extra porch etc thus saving us money! Fingers crossed it can work, but this is the space that we would have to play with to split the bathroom and utility now. I've allowed for more hallway space where it recesses to the right to accommodate coat/shoe storage How would you split this down now? The bathroom would have a nice outside window now so not as dark.

Multiple makers for waterproof vinyl planks exist; Karndeen and Amtico are just the most well known names. “luxury vinyl tiles” / LVT will give search hits. There is little technical difference - the waterproof ones tend to have a relatively rigid ~4mm hard plastic board that’s also having the Click T&G profile, and then the vinyl top layer. Non waterproof types tend to be MDF backed or thinner/more flexible. How well textures and texture/color matching are done varies; my advice would be to get samples or see a showroom before buying. I have a set of Karndeen samples some of which look extremely natural, while on others the printed colors/pattern and the surface texture so badly mismatch that it looks ridiculous. Good Morning Rhian, The tumble dryer can be placed on top of the washer to save space and make the room feel larger. Manufacturers provide fixing kits for this, some even come with a pull out shelf. When we go through the design process here at Ellen Utley Interiors, we spend quite some time sketching out all of the possibilities and then narrow this down for you. Beforehand, it is worth asking pertinent questions to really understand what the priorities are in the room. You may wish to have a separate shower or a shower over the bath. You might like the idea of plenty of storage in the form of shelves within the laundry cupboard, as shown with the below idea by Jonathan. Whilst narrowing down the options, I recommend considering whenever possible that the toilet is not on view as you walk in the door, that the space is balanced, practical for accessing facilities and what makes the space feel larger and open. If you are having a bath, the view whilst sitting in the bath. The next step is lighting and ensuring that the light is right for bedtime calm as well as morning wake up. Once again we go through the sketching process thinking of all of the possibilities and narrow it down. This is an exciting project, thank you for sharing. Here is an inspiring image showing how floating units can optimise the feel of space and how a view without a toiler is best. I can tell you that we have the washing machine upstairs and it works a treat, laundry goes straight in from the dressing room and there is far less travel plus the downstairs now contains extra storage space! That is super useful thank you. I might think about putting the washing machines into the utility room, moving the bathroom into that space then using the bathroom space as a place to take off shoes/store coats etc. It’s great to see a different perspective so I really appreciate you taking the time to do the drawing.

Neptune bathroom bits are beautiful - you could use either Hathaway, Suffolk or Chichester integrated door with a pair of end panels all through neptune ( I design for one of their studios occasionally - so quite familiar with their ranges ) so it's achievable ! Your local outlet should be able to mock it up on CAD for you !

Meant to add - a diddy wall hung tumble dryer might fit in above the washing machine - hidden by a door too !

Yes but this is MY bathroom, I want a make up station and nail bar, with a hair styling area... Now it's a utility and that's rubbish!

lol ! I can't remember what the finished floor plan was in the end !! I remember there was a river under the house or something at one point ? Is there space elsewhere for laundry items ?

Be careful with electric hair things in the bathroom - even WM will need to be hard wired into a fused spur - no hairdryers /straightners /nail dryers etc should be in a bathroom !

I would stack the washer and dryer and put them in a cupboard. Consider a kitchen cabinet with a hideaway door (opens then folds into the cabinet- kinda like a hotel TV cabinet- Try Leicht).

You can put electrical items in a bathroom but ideally they must be away from any water- if the room is big enough then no problem- after all some people put a bath in a bedroom and there are lights and hair dryersz in bedrooms!
If the room is tight then you may well have to observe Oneplans advice.

Baths in bedrooms need to be 3m from the nearest socket too - it's quite regulated - because accidentally dropping a hairdryer into the bath while someone is in it will more than likely be fatal for the person in the bath - hence even heavy WM's need to be hard wired into a fused spur if it's on the outskirts of even a big bathroom - some electrician's won't put freestanding WM in bathrooms !
( UK I'm talking about - in other country's it may be different )

How come we can have sockets less than 3 m from a sink in the kitchen?
