New cladding and windows colour choice

Our 1960s house is currently clad in aluminium painted white and has poor quality upvc White windows. As part of the renovation we have already installed a dark grey zinc roof. The cladding will be fibre cement board (Cedral Weatherboard) and the windows aluminium. But what colours do we go for? Stay white or be more daring? Alex

I think white against the dark grey has the biggest visual impact but with dark grey windows. If you wanted something different you could always try a different colour over the door area or even the oak. I can't unfortunately find any images..

Personally I'd go with black Cedral Weatherboard - would make a strong statement

As a showroom I presume you have a big window behind the hoarding. Since there will be little wall to clad I say don't bother- keep the look unified with the same top and bottom- the trick is getting noticed from the road- consider either a bolder colour for the render- perhaps a blue/black. Or perhaps an awning? Or perhaps you put a window display in an eye catching colour? Or perhaps you made the frontage look more luxurious with topiary and a red carpet? I would not combine a white or off white render with white windows. One makes the other look 'off' as they don't match. I think you can combine with any shade of grey and have a different colour front door. You can also, go outside the 'Grey' box that we're all in currently. Buff, or any neutral colour will look nice with a white render. Usually I would also say that the window colour is dictated to predominantly by the roof colour, as grey with a red roof tile, doesn't look nice. Grey with grey roof tiles is lovely for instance. Can you post a picture of the house? It's a lot easier to suggest things with visuals of the look of the place.
