Comments (12)I think it could be quite cool with the floor. I wouldn’t paint that particular wall a different colour as it will separate the parts of the kitchen, Apologies as I can’t use photoshop at all. I might be tempted to paint that end wall something like charlottes lock by F&B then add a kilim rug with orange and blues but straddling the L shape so it draws your eye down and connects them. Then add art on the left wall. Were you planning on adding a table? I might go with a wooden table or chairs. Comments (5)We have a towel rail in a narrow carcase. There’s no point in my opinion putting a door on the front of it as you'd have to open it with wet hands to find the towel. Many people don’t plan one in their kitchen which is a big mistake. 8 years agoI've always wanted an island! When I recently installed my new kitchen, I knew I didn't have the space so I bought this IKEA one. I can move it out of the way if needed, and can also get rid of it if it really doesn't work. At the minute, I love it though!

8 years agoOur island and eating area ( all open plan between the two rooms) is the central part of our home. We looked for a kitchen with an island as one of the most important features on our wish list. It's the main place we entertain.

8 years agoWe added an island when we did kitchen last year. Absolutely love it! Works sooooo much better than 'g' shape we had before. No more zigzagging across the kitchen!

8 years agoat kitchenflair we are finding more often our customers want an island and a large bank of units against the wall for maximum storage and the wow effect! the island can also incorporate a breakfast bar or a dining table as shown below... we love them though for some they're simply not practical!
