What kind of care would table require if used in kitchen? Durable?

For simple cleaning, use a damp cloth with a mild detergent. Over time, you may want to refinish the surface with a refinishing agent to regain its original luster. For this we recommend Scott's Liquid Gold. Pour a small amount onto a rag and wipe the entire surface until you have an even finish. Do not pour the cleaner directly onto the furniture as this can result in an uneven coat or discolor the wood.

If your furniture develops stains like a watermark from a glass, use 220 grit sandpaper and lightly sand the wood until the stain disappears. For best results, follow this with a treatment of Linseed Oil to refinish the surface to its original quality.

Try to keep the piece out of direct sunlight if possible. It is wood's natural property to darken over time when exposed to sunlight, so if an object is left on your LAX furniture and left in the sun for a long time, the covered surface will appear lighter once the object is moved. This light spot will take time to blend back into the surrounding area and may never be fully as dark. Also, don't put hot stuff like pots and pans directly on the wood.

The PCHseries Dining Table is made of solid teak and finished in a natural Tung oil. To clean, simply use a damp cloth with a mild detergent. We recommend using Tung oil every 3 – 6 months or as needed to return the wood to its original luster.

To apply Tung oil, we recommend applying it to a clean, dry, lint-free cloth first, then applying it to the wood surface. Wipe the entire surface that you are refinishing to get the best results. Once the oil has cured into the wood (after roughly 15 minutes) any excess can be wiped off using a second clean, dry cloth.

*Do not pour the oil directly onto the PCHseries product as it could leave an uneven coat causing discoloration in the wood. Please note, every piece of furniture is unique and will respond differently to various wood refinishing products.

My kitchen refit starts 3 weeks today but won't be finished until next year when I have decided on the splash backs. This has been a project 2 years in the making due to several builders agreeing to do the work only to never hear from them again & also some very poor service from kitchen shops. Finally I have a builder on board who will move a doorway to accommodate the new position for my fridge freezer and fit a Second Nature kitchen in elm that is to replace an old cream shaker one. Most of the appliances are staying as they are newish but for the first time I will have a dishwasher, a wall mounted oven so I can see what is cooking & a Franke under mounted corner sink which was a brand new ebay bargain. I am switching from gas to a white induction hob that will hopefully fit seamlessly into white quartz countertops. I am so excited, all this in a 2.6m x 2.8m kitchen. I have also asked the countertop peeps to smooth off an additional piece of quartz to fit the sink aperture so I can use that as additional work space. I am boring my boyfriend with endlessly searching for the best deals on things and trying my luck haggling which is not usually like me but lots of fun! Hi Cesca, as your kitchen is quite dark I would go for white cupboards and natural wood worktops, something like your table and chairs. This I would live without changing as I think they looks very nice. I would move the table 50cm from the kitchen cabinets and put some nice carpet just under the table and the chairs to make the space warmer and more cozy. I would paint the walls with light green and add some colourful details. White ir light grey curtains would also make your kitchen look special. If one day you decide to change the floor go for natural wood.

I cant figure out how to send a private message either! £15k on interior design / space planning alone was our budget for a 5 bedroom house refurbishment - I would say that ours definitely isnt ’light touch’ though - we get everything from the from the paint specification to a shopping list for every room and then a styling trip to come and do all of the finishing touches. Every room has everything from the floor covering to the window treatments to the files and designs for bespoke furniture. All rooms come with proffesional lighting plans, which can be handed over to an electrician. We paid around £3k for the structural engineer and £1k for the architect. We managed the project ourselves, so I dont have a comparison for that element i’m afraid but I certainly dont think that number looks unreasonable. I would definitely find out exactly what you are going to get for that money but honestly, presuming that the house is of significant value and your build cost is also significant (clearly important for spend to be relative) then that doesnt seem to be an unfair cost to me. Getting your space planning and interior design right, is a massive part of any project and can vastly change the look and feel of the finished house. We’ve all seen examples where people have spent A LOT of money on major reburbishments and the end result just looks a bit ’blah’ - its there in my opinion that an extra 5–10% of the overall cost would have completely transformed and ’polished’ the final result. Appreciate design is not possible for everyones budget but if its a possibility for you and you like the quality of their work, then I dont think that figure is out of the way.
