Do you have photos of your kitchen with a vaulted/exposed ceiling?

We are in west Wales and planning a one storey extension to create a kitchen and extend an open plan kitchen-dining area. The kitchen part does not have a normal flat ceiling but one with exposed beams/truss so I would be interested to see kitchen designs/photos preferably with large island on how it might look. Thanks in advance fellow Houzzers.

Hello Charlie Thanks so much for your really helpful comments. Sadly we have been let down by our builder so it is now on hold for a month or two so do not have anything to send you. Totally agree regards having the same colour palette throughout. It is more where to put the log burner. Originally it was going in the middle of the wall in the vaulted area but I was concerned about that then becoming the focal point and so creating 2 rooms. I then thought of putting it up against one of the small nibs and using the nib as one side of the fireplace but then I thought if we have sofas around it one end of the sofa would be under the vaulted ceiling and one end under the lower ceiling!! So I am now thinking maybe we should leave it where it is ie centrally placed in the vaulted area. You say 'so the size of the furniture here is even more essential that the placement'. What do you mean by that? Should it be on the larger size? Again, thanks so much for your help. I will look you up online! Kind regards Jane Field

I think you would actually be ok with taking the color over it all. It probably depends more on how you wanted the room to feel. The current lighter tone gives space to the room, but your selection Oval Room Blue, would probably give you a more intimate feel. With white items such as wardrobes etc, it could end up giving a coastal feel which you could build on as a theme with linen bedclothes, lampshades, blinds.

Hi Jo, Love the high ceilings. Having floor to ceiling wardrobes may be quite overpowering in the room and take over from the space. My thought would be to have a partial wall behind the bed that would create a walk in wardrobe and then place the bed in front. I am attaching some ideas below.
