netschwester. Thank you for your lovely comments. I used 2 coats of a good primer/undercoat that didn't need any sanding beforehand.The dresser was a very dark wood with a very shiny lacquer and it covered really well. I then used 2 coats of Colortrend Satinwood paint in Ice House and Milk Teeth. I got the glass knobs online for a great price (12 for €20). I'm delighted with the result and everyohe else seems to like it too. Good luck with your piece. Once you get started you'll enjoy it and the finished article will give a great sense of satisfaction. Show us some pics when you have them.

Thank you for your reply. perhaps your photographer isn't the best at composing and displaying the quality woodwork. Got to say if I had a solid wall of cupboards like that, i would have to break them up with useful mirrors. the handles for the nice bathroom space look far too overt and noticeable for me, but maybe the client chose them.

If deep grey really appeals to you then go for it! The beauty of paint is that you can always change your mind, it may be a bit time consuming but it's relatively inexpensive (compared to picking the wrong sofa or kitchen cabinets :0) I have a Pinterest board called 'The dark side' with hundreds of images of interiors that I find incredibly attractive (think Abigail Ahern) but some people would probably think were blacker than the inside of a camel and avoid like the plague :D I currently live in a small Georgian terrace with low ceilings and little natural light so most of them aren't an option (unless you really don't mind bumping into things) but I have painted two walls in my bedroom (which is much larger/higher for some reason) in a deep steel grey and I love it, I only wish I hadn't lost courage and painted the other two in a pale white/grey. Hi. I think a grey with a blue undertone would work well with the walnut (first pic is little Greene mid lead), I might do all the walls. The colour also works well with brass and dark green. The industrial loft bed is from west elm (£500 off ATM!), hard to tell on screen but I think the wood colour will work. I might just go for one bedside cabinet (brass or the matching one would work) with some foliage and have a plug in wall light the other. Hard to tell if the pendant light would work without knowing the ceiling height but would go for something mid century. This is also westelm and they also do a plug in light. If you like anything the art is by Attiko art and the chair is Rose and grey
