Extreme budget revamp!
Comments (6)Having an 'extreme budget' to me reads like you have money to burn, but I soon realised that's not what you meant. :) You've done a lovely job with minimal means. Nice one!...See MoreKitchen revamp on low budget
Comments (4)You say you can't afford a new kitchen this year. Does that mean you might be able to next year or in two years' time? If so, save your dosh and don't waste it on a 'revamp' of anything but the walls and anything else you can realistically paint - not the tiles or the kitchen cabinet doors! If you have to spend some money now, change the lighting and maybe the floor but any money you spend on wall tiles, worktops and doors will almost certainly be a waste of money! Comments (5)Hi franparmenter, there are lots of things you can do! For example, changing the depths and heights of cabinetry can make the kitchen storage bigger or reduce the depth and height to give more free space in a small kitchen. With so many options in sizes now available you’re no longer constrained by one single size. Pocket doors, which slide back into the unit, either as a bi-fold option or a whole option, allow easy access to units but without imposing on floor space. Use mirrors and reflective surfaces to maximise light. Go for integrated appliances to streamline the look. We've attached photo of a very small kitchen we designed and fitted which certainly has the 'wow' factor! Let us know if we can help you further. Best wishes for your move. http://www.kitchensinternational.co.uk/...See MorePine kitchen units need revamping
Comments (6)Hello cgillmurray, Well there's a lot you could consider here really... I'm interested to know what the little bits of dark green is in sections.. If there's a green theme then why not consider how you could continue this theme to make something of it.. With blinds, to lampshades, to tiles and even re-painting the cabinet fronts.. Here an important consideration is the quality of the cabinetry... Would they look good with just the doors painted? Would it be a good idea to consider other aspects of change.. You mentioned tired looking but if they are in good condition overall then you could perhaps consider a cosmetic change? I'd say spray paint for a good finish. Then you might want to change handles and things too... Indeed seeing is having more scope for advice.. Sometimes small details can have a huge impact.. Here's a bit of inspiration for you and colours may not be your thing but for illustrative purposes.... It's 5 years old and has gone through 3 painted changes, particularly on the doors - most recently for a look I created which was shot for the Observer Magazine. These though are just my own shots to illustrate what you can do that's cosmetic and make a big difference... .. It's just one look on a really tiny budget based on the spatial configurations of the room. :)) Here's how it started out.....See MoreSusanna
