Comments (6)Hi there, sorry to hear about the problems you've had. Ashton's have given good advice, and the flex-seals are a good option to reduce your risks of leaks further. I too would be interested to know what tray you used? The quality of trays can vary hugely, and over the years we've narrowed down what we use to a few suppliers we trust. It is not until you come to fit or, indeed, still later that you find that "bargain" was actually an expensive mistake. I'd echo mayfly's advice too - by splitting all the elements of your bathroom (different products from different suppliers, different builders/tilers etc), you leave yourself open to escalating problems with everyone blaming everyone else. If you go to a single independent, they'll put together a package based on products and tradesmen they trust, and if anything goes wrong you only have to deal with one company, and they'll normally move heaven and earth to fix it. And their tradesmen & suppliers will move heaven and earth to sort it too - they won't want to risk losing all that repeat trade where they might walk away from a single difficult job. It might look as though the up front price is a little higher than doing it all yourself, but when things go awry you may find it is a false economy. I hope you get the problem sorted and good luck with the kitchen too!...See MoreKitchen Diner Living Layout Plans - Advice Please
Comments (31)Hi Keswing, I had exactly the same problem with my hubby!!! Haha! The great thing with concept planners is they will pass their trade discounts onto you! We actually used Gina from Create Perfect on here (but she does exactly the same as OnePlan) who I would highly recommend and the fab thing was that even after her fees it saved us money because she passed on all the trade discounts! I highly recommend getting in touch with OnePlan and Create Perfect and getting quotes from both of them. If you ask them both to send you the list of companies they get trade discount with then you can show that to your hubby and knowing you're in the market for some serious spending on a kitchen and presumably a bit of new furniture then you'll be able to show it's cost neutral! :) We saved over £1,500 in our kitchen alone through Create Perfect getting us discounts with our chosen suppliers (probably worth noting that it doesn't limit your choices as the kitchen company we chose from her concept plan she'd never dealt with before but she set up a trade account just for us, the same for our underfloor heating and actual floor) Hope it helps and good luck!...See Moredoes anyone have experience with a shower tray and curtain??
Comments (28)Thank you all so much for your input. Really do appreciate it. (AS - unfortunately the loo has to be on the side nearest the riser that holds the waste pipes - but thank you for taking the time to do the plan). I should probably have mentioned that the shower will be a rainfall one and the pressure isn't great - so it's not a really powerful shower that would definitely flood. What I am looking into now is perhaps a slightly recessed shower tray - harder for water to go up right?! rather than ugly built up sides. A bit like this image bit recessed shallow tray....See Moreshower room layou
Comments (0)Hi I am seeking advice with the layout in a shower room. My main bugbear is the step up to the shower and the size of the shower. I would like to remove the step and accommodate a larger shower. Option 1- A 1700 shower low profile tray with 1400 glass screen and walk in opening. Option 2 - A 1400 low profile shower tray with sliding doors. This would leave a space of 300 between the shower and wall where the radiator is. It’s been suggested to me that this is wasted space. The toilet will be wall hung short projection. Colour scheme neutral/ stone/pale grey.Black towel radiator. My questions are 1 what are pros and cons of each option? 2 Is it ok to have the towel radiator within the shower area.? 3 Will the current layout of vanity unit / shelving make the room look too crowded? 4 Would a wall hung vanity/ basin work with floating shelves either side. Shelves are 26cm deep and counter top 32 cm. I am struggling to find a unit I like to fit. I don’t like the compact units where the tap is on the side. 5 Tile the whole room or just the shower area? 6 use same tiles wall and flooring? Any input/ suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you Christine...See Morexuerebmichele
